We are in a steaming hot jungle near the equator, nearing the end of winter, I grant you, if anything Carrot would be suffering from a heatstroke, possibly deep into a jungle-fever driven delerium.

Khenal sees a glint in the dense jungle, he's unsure what to make of it.

"Not really, at least, not without some hairs of his or something.  I could try to improvise, but there's no guarantee that it'll work."

I sit down, trying to think of a way to track Carrot.

Smack dab in winter.  60 deg. F isn't unreasonable, and being soaked in that kind of temperature will give you hypothermia just easily as ten feet of snow.  Maybe not frostbite, but still a bad place to be without shelter

'He's my friend, that's a good connection.'

Friesden hurries over to the glinting.

I stand as quickly as I can manage and follow, hoping it really is Carrot and that he's alright.
