[The Master]

Cockroach gives up being patient and jumps to where Keeper is, grabs him, and jumps back to the grimdark-hallway, and plops him down next to the whimpering Khenal.

[Dsarker]

"I've seen worse than this, Cockroach. Were you even trying? Need I remind you, I was at the Rape of Lanchest, and that didn't faze me in the least. At least try throwing something horrible in next time. My goodness, man, you've done better sleeping. Oh no, it's an infinite hallway! Oh no, dead bodies! Oh, no!"

[Khenal]

"Perfect."

I cease my ruse and wave Starkey's Honesty, my horn flashing as I assert my will.  In the path of the axe, the gruesome scenery reverts back, but not completely.  The garden becomes a patchwork of nightmare and dream, gruesome hallway clashing with green grass and white marble, both scenes fighting for dominance.

I charge Cockroach, Honesty raised high.

I just realized, I have no idea what Cockroach looks like.  I can aim at head and torso just fine, but detail on what he looks like would be nice.

Friesden flies just under Khenal, and in the nick of time, catches him before he hits the ground.

"Funny...I didn't see this one coming. Fu-" Mutters Cockroach before being sliced in half, sending a grimdark spray of blood, intestines, gore, and other parts of the body, left and right. The gore scene also takes dominance and refuses to vanish, despite Cockroach being dead for the day.

[Dsarker]

"Khenal? Are you...are you alright?" asks Friesden anxiously.

[Khenal]

'Hmm, not good.  He's making progress.  Any suggestions, Keeper?'

[Dsarker]

"I've got nothing. Daemons are, despite what you may think, not well known. There are the seven incantations against the daemonic, of course, but nothing that could kill him easily.

[Khenal]

'Anything to make him just stay put or take his power away?'

[Dsarker]

"The only thing that can do that is learning the daemon's true name, whatever it is. You'll need to get that from somewhere else, though, as I do not know it. It is possible Psycho Carrot might know it...but don't trust in it."


Friesden lands and lowers Khenal from her back carefully.

"Khenal? Are you okay? Can you hear me?"

[Khenal]

'I was afraid it might be something like that.'

As I break my trance, I hear Friesden's concerned voice and see her worried face.

"Friesden!  Are you alright?"

[Dsarker]

"Am I alright? You were falling from the sky! Are your wings hurt?"

There's a look of anxiety on her face, a little relieved now that Khenal is responding.

[Khenal]

I give my wing an experimental flap, but it doesn't respond properly.  It doesn't hurt, at least.

'Looks like he damaged my memories of flying with that trick.'

"They don't hurt, but I don't think I'll be flying for a while.  I'm just glad you're safe."

[Dsarker]

The look of anxiety returns. "You can't fly? Will... Will it fix itself?"

She suddenly grabs Khenal and holds him tight. "I was so worried...I'm just glad you're safe."
