"Wake up right now soldier!  At attention or I'll have your hooves!" I shout out in my best Drill Sergent voice.

Granite is rewarded by nothing more than Khenal's continued sobs.

[Khenal]

I again start charging the shock spell, refusing to let Carrot die like this.

"You've bested the reaper before, Carrot!  Now get off your haunches and remind him you aren't finished yet!"

A third dose of voltage courses through Carrot's heart.

Psycho eyes slowly open, and a faint smile appears. He looks at his ever faithful friends, and says,
"You guys are the best...I mean it...Especially you, Khenal...Thank you. Starkey, thank you. Thank you all..."
He says before passing out. This time, with a pulse. Incredibly weak, but a pulse.

[Rentorian]

My shoulders sag noticeably in relief.  "Negs will be glad to hear about this when he wakes up," I mutter.
"Let's get him to the hospital, hopefully he'll stay there until he's healed this time.."

I'm gonna go to sleep now.  Got work tomorrow, you know the drill.

[Khenal]

I again rest my head on Carrot, though this time my tears are ones of joy.  After a few moments, I stand to thank everypony for helping with Cockroach and for just being here.

"Thank you, everypony.  Without you, I wouldn't have been able to bind Cockroach.  And I wouldn't have remembered the shock spell.  It's thanks to you ponies, my friends, that Carrot is alive and Cockroach is hopefully gone for good."

'Thank you too, Keeper.  With you on defense, I was able to concentrate on dealing with Cockroach.'

Then I realize that we have a pony here who was just revived and still has a weak pulse, and Friesden still hasn't gotten attention for her leg.

"Thank you, Granite.  Would you also please send a doctor down here for Friesden?"

[The Master]

I'm gonna go to sleep now.  Got work tomorrow, you know the drill.

[Dsarker]

Friesden has, quite unnoticed, continued to thump her leg against the wall.

[The Master]

All at once, a new pony Khenal had never seen before runs up to him, drops a letter at his hoofs, then runs away just as quickly.

[Khenal]

I sigh before levitating the pillow from Friesden's bed and interposing it between the wall and her leg.  I pick up the letter in my mouth, my magic reserves quite low after the binding, and tuck it in my barding for later.  I then give Starkey a weary smile.

"So, how's your day been?"

[Dsarker]

Friesden continues to kick the wall, tearing holes in the pillow.

(Just got caught up again. I'm surprised that artifact earring actually got mentioned, let alone was used as a plot point. Clever thinking of using that.)

[Impending Doom]

"Well, it was working up to be quite dull. Then... *chuckle* well, I guess I should be careful what I wish for."

[Khenal]

"Heh, yep."

I notice that Friesden is working her way through the pillow.

"Uh, Friesden, could you come here for a moment, please?"

As far as the earring goes, I knew I was going to use it for something as soon as you gave it to Carrot, I just didn't know what.  Glad you liked it
