I accept the dagger and place it on top of one of the stacks.

"Thank you, Carrot.  This means a lot to me.  Let me give you something in return."

I walk over to my bed and pull a bag out from under it.  I give it to Carrot, and look at the floor.

"It's not as thought-out as your gift, but I'd still like you to have these bits.  I was planning on buying books with them, but now it seems I wont have to.  And I don't know if I can accept all these books if it means you have to go without some of your own things."

I shake my head and smile. "With all the damage to your office, you're going to need it to pay for repairs." Psycho says and turns to leave.

"Thank you again, Carrot."  I smile and turn to the stacked books, wondering how to organize them until I can get a new bookshelf.

Still in the hospital, Friesden thrashes as she tries to break free from the traction bench.

With the book stacked roughly according to subject, my thoughts turn towards the popcorn from Schmoe.

The popcorn has changed...warped, if you will. No longer popcorn, it has taken the form of a unicorn.

'Why is nothing ever simple when dealing with daemons?  What memories are stored?  Who are you?'

The unicorn frowns. "I have not much dealings with daemons, so I am unable to answer your first question. The answer to your second appears to be from the birth of a pony called variably 'Friesden', 'bitch', '24601', 'prisoner', to approximately twelve months from what I believe is your current time. I cannot answer the third at this time. I apologise."
