Wei stood before the last creature, puffing slightly from all the high speed acrobatics he had done recently. It wasn't nesscessary for him to do all of them, infact he had concluded that the creatures contained a few key weaknesses that he could easily exploit, and Wei was all about the exploiting. The reason he did them was to analyse the capabilities of the monsters, so to be able to make a good guess to how much of a threat they posed.
As the creature charged again, arms wide, Wei just ran forward and jumped over the creature, flipping in middair and grabbing the back of the creature's head with one hand and twisting in midair so his landed with his feet on the thing's back. The creature struggled to attack him, but other than trying to shake him off, it had no capability to reach him. While those large bladed arms could indeed do quite a bit of damage, he had seen one slice through it's pod without any real effort shown, there was a fundamental flaw in its design. It's head. Due to the large size of it's armoured head, which even he had trouble cracking because the bone on the outside was so thick, it got in the way of it's arms. In order to aim higher, the thing had to literally lean backwards with it's torso, since it couldn't achieve an angle above 30 degrees with it's arms. And while it's segmented exoskeleton was indeed very difficult to pierce, the gaps in the armour where it provided motion for the limbs however, were a different story. The armour on the back of the neck was also nonexistant, leaving a major vunerability.
In short, while the things were indeed formidable to a normal human even an armed one, to a super of the likes of him, these things were far from the perfect being that their creator had claimed them to be.
I've seen better ones, especially ones that looked better.
He plunged his hand straight into the back of the things neck, severing the spine and riding the corpse of the beast down to the ground. Hopping off nonchantly and straightening his clothing. He had a final look around the lab, inspecting the ruins of the lab.
Perfect being, my ass... Still, they are a somewhat capable terror weapon. And if he had an army like he said he did, it could be a problem...
As he started to leave the lab, he felt a prickle in the back of his brain that told him that he was being watched. Wei stopped for a moment, looking around the lab. He had always listened to his instincts, and they very rarely told him lies. Doutless the beast master was watching, probably cursing about how easily Wei had dispatched his pets. But there was something else... Something that hinted at another person... Shrugging, he left through the way he came, picking up Akane's sword after noticing it lying in the corridor.
Next time we meet, I should give this back. A good sword like this is hard to come across now days. Perhaps, I should decapitate her with it?
Hopping into the elevator shaft and lifting himself up it with tendrils of blood, he ran through the events of today in his mind. A chase, a fight over some trucks, a meeting with a nonhuman super, these dockyards and those beings of incredible power... Quite a day, to be sure. As he surfaced and stepped out onto the ruined rooftop, he could see in the dockyards below that the guards were almost completely gone, the last of them running into the streets.
Well, at least I have made something of today. These will sell nicely. Time to go see what else is going on in the city.
