Remember how I said the bent leg would be easier to draw, or at least implied it? I scrapped that idea because it turned out I was wrong, and also I suck at drawing background or scenery things that make sense perspective-wise (or just sense at all).
There were technical difficulties involved. I know I messed him up in this one, but I'm just not sure
how. (Probably a too-tall chest, I do that all the time.) I meant to make the jeans look looser but then it made his legs look too wide and augh I don't know. I do mostly like how his hair came out though.
I got lazy on his hands. His right hand (on the left) came out well for something half-assed. I like how I used a half-assed base reference sketch of someone's hand, and then later darkened the lines and it turned out nice. Hell, it looks pretty accurate (as far as my hands go) when comparing it to my own hand. On the other hand pun intended, the other one was a bitch to draw even though I decided to use a reference. And even after all the adjustments and redrawing, I'm pretty sure I made them too small.
Pretend the crates are made of planks because screw drawing more straight lines; the crate outlines, Troy's shades, the telescope, and hell, even the Prospitans' outfits were
excruciating enough to draw on their own. Even when the lines are perfectly horizontal to one of the blue lines.
The Prospitans' outfits look better as just color than as lineart. As for drawing the Prospitans themselves, I have mixed feelings-- their little joints and fingers/toes and curves (like on the upper calves) are fun, but the limbs in their entirety are mostly straight and thin, two things that make for
agonizing drawing. Seriously you guys, just, fuck straight lines. Also jeans, why's everyone gotta wear jeans.
I would have darkened his shades, but then it'd be harder to see his eyes, and also because they'd be more susceptible to smudging which is worse for small things.
