You head down the passageway again and start yelling out to the monsters therein. You draw back when one of them whips a fireball at the entrance way that nearly takes your head off. You can clearly see several basilisks, some things you don't recognize that look to be around six feet and creepy, and something far back enough that you can't see what it is, but it's obviously huge.

Well, there is a tree. And you cleared the sand off the trapdoor. And you're leaving a fire there.

Trouble is, apart from the tree, there's nothing you can see up close, unless the fire keeps smoking it up out here until you get back, which may not be the case. And the tree isn't even helpful because most of the islands have one or more. Hmm...
