> Claire: Ditch the sprite, go check on ye fish. Hope they didn't get crushed or killed during the "remodeling".

You decide their isn't much your sprite can do right now, so you leave it to it's business. Instead, you go into your closet to check on your fishies. It seems that they are all just fine, apart from being a little more active than usual.

No, wait, scratch that. Looks like one of them has gone belly up. Fish are such fragile pets.

"YeAh, i WeNT tO a TempLe. iT WAs whErE I foUnD thE bRokEn moNiToR roOm. I'M hoPiNg thAt ThiS oNE HAs OnE ThAt ISn'T bRokEn."

>Mimi & Steve: Head to the temple.

You both soon find yourselves at the entrance to a temple. To Steve, it is obvious that this one is quite different from the temple he'd

RL: You can't decide whether to run like hell or to fight. Instead, just sort of freeze, prepared to hit anything that tries to attack you.

8+8+it doesn't matter. Roll to confirm that Brutal Affront.

CA: Be watching. Prepare scathing dialogue for later.
You'd do that, you really would. But right now, you're busy feeling empathetic towards someone for the first time in your life. WHO'S CUTTING THOSE DAMN ONIONS, I SWEAR TO GOD I WILL KILL WHOEVER IS CUTTING THOSE DAMN ONI-
TB: Knock CA out before he does something rash.
You just did that! Honestly, it's like these commands are running late or something!

Danielle stands frozen in place. She readies her weapon, and stands still. Out of the corner of her eye, she can see Alex shaking.

Alex: Come to terms with your fear in the worst possible manner.

You hate this game. You haven't said anything up until now, but you hate, hate, hate this game. From the second the meteors set your house on fire, it's been near constant terror for you. You've been forced to fight for your life, when you never intended to actually use your strife specibus against someone else, ever.

Your parents are probably dead. You figured this out not long after you entered. You tried to hold it in. Your Brother was still with you, after all. But now he's gone. He wanted to save you. He wanted to deal with this game's bullshit all by himself.

You've nearly died twice, because of these people. No... Not people. People couldn't control monsters. People wouldn't suck this forest dry, and kill your brother for protecting a bunch of goddamn snakes. They aren't any better than any of these imps, even if they actually talk. They are worse. Their words kill.

You remove your freshly minted axe from your strife specibus. You don't feel anything from the axe this time. The axe just looks scary. That rage, that power... It comes from you. And you will set it loose.

>Alex: Make Them Pay.

Alex has entered Murder Mode and cannot respond to any commands besides ==> and RAGETECHS.

==>

With a scream of rage, Alex leaps forward at an advancing formation of dersites. His movements are fast enough to be mistaken for instantaneous. 4 heads rise from their shoulders, no longer tethered by bone or sinew. An ogre strikes him, but Alex remains completely unfazed, cleaving the hulking enemy in half in an instant.

What follows cannot be called a battle. It is slaughter.

Dersites scatter in the Mage's wake. Some escape. Most do not. The Arch Agent on the stage barks into a radio, drawing his knife. He isn't going down to this punk kid, that's for sure.

Alone in the field, Alex turns to the stage, spotting the Arch Agent. With a roar of inhuman rage, he leaps up, landing between his brother's body and the agent.

The Agent turns, intent on gutting the child, as a dersite helicopter closes in. He thrusts.

The Mage catches his wrist, and twists, tearing the arm out. The Agent swears.

LEVEL 13 RAGETECH: SOMETHIN' IN YOUR EYE, PAL.

Alex retrieves the knife from the Arch Agent's hand, and returns it to him. Straight in his eye.

>Kaminasprite: Do something! Alex is out of control!

"Danielle, stay here! I gotta knock some sense into Alex."

Kaminasprite flies toward Alex as he raises his axe to finish Jack off. "ALEX! You need to snap out of it!" The mighty Kaminasprite clenches his fist, throwing his entire body into the hit.

Alex takes it on the cheek, and seems to take the first visible damage from any attack on him thus far. Then, taking no notice of the flames surrounding his sprite, he grabs Kamina by the throat, and throws him straight through the floor of the stage. The construction collapses, as the Arch Agent is airlifted out of the battle by the helicopter.

Now, bereft of opponents, or rather victims, Alex raises his face to the sky, and screams, raging with every fiber of his being. He won't stop here, not like this.

OOC: There's a way out of this. Just going to put that out there, and then not give any more hints at all.

RL: What in the eight hundred and thirty seven layers of hell just happened. You just... don't... even...

Snakesprite: Dammit, the sprites have to do everything around here. Try dragging Danielle somewhere less full of carnage.

CA: Dream.
You begin to see things you never thought you would see. Despair, hope, rage...
And then you wake up in a pool of blood. Not yours, solely - you can see the corpses of several nearby. You can make out the Rogue, the Sage, the Heir, the Page, the Knight... You can't walk, you can't breathe.
You are a speck. You are alone, unfeeling.
And then you see the Mage. Weeping, alone, astounded at his slaughter. You laugh at his misery.
You are dust, and you mock those who, like you, have truly lost it all. You are nothing, and you are horrible.

Then you actually wake up with a concussion, mild hangover, and TB standing over you with a giant clock handle in case you try anything.

I'm not sure if that was sarcastic or not, and I feel like I killed the moment, so I'll apologize. Sorry for that.

Snakesprite begins to try to pull you away from here. Obviously, Alex has completely flipped his shit, and there is nothing to do but wait for him to calm down.

>repentantAntagonist: Panic.

No! Not again! You're so close this time! It can't end like this! Not again...

You pester Danielle. You just need her to trust you, just for a few seconds.

Not that you're sure this will work. It's been a long time, and you aren't sure how much you've changed, that you think this'll work. But you have to try.

I actually genuinely laughed, you don't need to apologize. I do believe feel free to be silly is like, rule two. Of course, I broke the first half of that rule, so...

RL: Snap.
You break free of Snakesprite's grip, finally overcoming the shock of seeing so many die in rapid succession, and run back to the stage.
You then proceed to give an angry speech worthy of... well, that depends on the reception.

Okay, it just seemed suspicious. Text sure is a great medium in which sarcasm can totally 100% completely be noticed oh dangit there I go.
Anyway time for a real action on my part:
> Claire: Glance around. See if the sprite followed you in. If so, prototype Malcolm (that's the dead fish). He was one of your favorites, and now he'll live again.

Also wow shit there you guys are doing awesome serious stuff and here I am mucking about wow I feel so bad.

You do feel bad about talking to her like that, but things need to be done. You've worked too long and hard for things to play out this way again. You just hope she approaches this the right way. She can be... blunt. You watch, hoping she'll deal with this situation delicately.

Thirty seconds later, you realize you are extremely out of touch with these people.

==>
Alex pauses in his screaming and yelling to listen to your speech, but when you finish, he growls and draws his fist back.

...And then does nothing. He keeps grunting and breathing heavily, but apart from looking like someone who'd kill in an instant, he does nothing. Just stands there, staring at you, his whole body shaking, one arm stretched behind him, his fest clenched. Actually... You're pretty sure the inside of his hand is bleeding. There's more blood dripping off his hand than there was a second ago. It doesn't look like it's slowing down.

In any case, whatever you were supposed to do to get shit un-flipped... That wasn't it. At least you didn't make the situation worse.

OOC: Okay, with Windows 7, it is tricky as hell to find your logs. At least I know where the heck they are now.

>CR: Knock on the door of the temple. See if anyone's home.

You thump loudly on the stone door. No one answers.

Eh, it'd be way less impressive had I actually run an encounter. What you all are experiencing is a phenomenon known as cutscene power to the max.

Yeah, it sure followed you in alright. You carefully scoop Malcolm out of the water, and press it against the sprite. One flash of light later, and your cardsprite now has fish face. It also seems to be swapping between faces less frequently now.
