>Mimi & Steve: Legitimately Enter
You legitimately enter the gate, and appear a stone's throw from a potentially bottomless chasm. Of course, that isn't particularly descriptive on your world. Bridges and Chasms are kind of a thing here. You haven't seen much change yet, apart from the bridges changing the destinations of the uninitiated.
Where will you go? Your map has clearly marked locations for each of the return nodes, and the drop-off points for six of the gates above your house. The two at the top are strangely un-marked... In addition to the return nodes, their are a few other marked locations, including a few small villages, and a temple. Dedicated to frogs, if the map is any indication. Weird.
>Get some dry clothes on, Really.
You swap out for some fresh duds. Honestly, couldn't you have been dropped off in your bathroom? At least then, you wouldn't have soaked your floor. That's bad for the carpet, or some crap.
You just barely finish re-dressing yourself before a small squad of imps burst into your room, followed by a menacing looking black figure wielding an eastern blade.
You ready yourself for battle, but then suddenly the black figure dispatches the imps. He gestures wordlessly to the imps, and sheathes his sword.
Just what the hell is going on here?
RL: Slow down and wait for Alex. Conveniently happen upon exactly what you were looking for. Or some imps. Whichever works.
You decide to wait a bit for Alex to catch up, and slow your pace afterwards. Not everyone was raised by a nutjob with a royalty complex and an obsession with halberds.
...Yeah, you don't really feel like thinking about Guard too much this minute.
Alex finally catches up, and the two of you set forth again. You keep an eye out for plots of land for your snake friends to stake out. Unfortunately, judging from the amount of upturned snake eyes (heheh), this area is already dangerously populated.
All at once, the treeline gets ugly as hell, and you run out of vines to swing on. It's the same shriveling phenomena as before. Alex quickly begins inspecting some of the desiccated lumber.
AL: HEY, DANIELLE? SOMETHING IS SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH THESE TREES.
As he says this, he taps a branch with his finger, causing it to crack and fall down to the ground.
