As far as you know, Ogres are extinct. The megabeasts were easily felled by cannon, very early in history. Some of the smaller monsters were able to hide... for a while. Until the humans started combing the earth, hunting them for "sport".
"What would one such as you be doing here? Hiding in a rubbish heap is hardly fitting work for a self proclaimed siege engineer."The Ogre carefully picks his steps through the rubble as he walks towards you, avoiding scrap bits of scrap and loose ore piles. As he gets approximately ten yards from you, he says
"Dwarf, I have come to create the last monument to the Ogres. I have not been in contact with an Ogre for over ten years now, and I know that I am the last. I intend to make the monument with what I can find in this factory"It's a somewhat shocking reply, really. An Ogre? Making handicrafts? In this day and age? You scratch your beard thoughtfully and respond
"And why do you think we would give you our tools and our materials? What makes you entitled to them?""You think I'm a fool, Urist? You think an Ogre cannot read? The newspapers have all said that this factory is closing down within a month, and that it will be abandoned like countless other factories! Who is going to stop me, after all the Dwarves have left?" Once , the ogres lived with the goblins in a foul sort of harmony. There have even been Ogres living amongst Dwarves , for short periods of time. Maybe you can recruit this monster, he would make a fine hauler for ore. Not to mention you have very little confidence that your men could defeat this monster in combat.
"I will make you a deal, Auroch. You will have access to all of our tools and facilities, between 8PM and 5AM. You may have as much raw materials as you need from this yard, as long as we are still shipping our orders. Furthermore, we will keep you from the all seeing eye of the Kingdom of Dwarves.
Your role in this - is you will be second only to myself in leadership of this facility. You will be responsible for keeping the furnaces burning day and night, brighter than the fires burning deep inside the magnesium mines of Dun Carpspike.
If we keep this place open, we will both be wealthy beyond either of our own imagines. We have one of the greatest factories on the planet here!
The Ogre sits down on a pile of rusted locomotive wheels near you, and takes off his helmet. He shakes out the greasy locks of hair from underneath, and looks to you.
"Dwarf, we have a deal. Let us go, and get these furnaces started. You will instruct your men to assemble tools suitable for someone my size"
"So be it. Auroch, you are the smelting Foreman. "You take out a piece of paper from your briefcase, and a pen from your jacket pocket. You scribble down the change in personnel.
"Oh, yeah. Auroch, there's something I have to do before we go...." Exits Production Hall (behind you)
You don't have a copy of this yet.
You know all the furnaces in production hall B are shut down, due to a lack of raw materials.
Auroch the Ogre - Smelting Foreman - He seems to be in moderate spirits
-Pig Tail Cloth Suit- (worn)
Pig Leather Shoes(foreign)(worn)
-Briefcase- (carried)
This factory hasn't shipped a single thing in over 4 months. Get in there, fire some people, and get production flowing out the door. You have full authority under the Kingdom of... the remainder of the paper has been ruined by a stain from a plump helmet sandwich
