Or people deliberately driving 5-10mph below the speed limit (especially after seeing the sign too) for the entire street, essentially making conga lines of cars form. It's especially bad if you;re rushing to a job or class.
Perhaps you should schedule your time better so that you aren't rushing everywhere? I've had more close calls with people rushing and being impatient than I've ever had with people going at a speed they are supposed to be going. Also, if they are doing it "delibrately", it's not really stupid/retarded, is it?
I generally do it to people like you because I find hilarious.
Also because you get the conga line even if you're going 5 mph ABOVE the speed limit. Also, just because you're in a hurry doesn't mean I am! I'm gonna drive at whatever speed I feel reasonable so long as its within legal limits (speed limit to speed limit -15 in most places)
My point? These people aren't doing something stupid or retarded, they just don't care about you or your petty problems and easily frustrated nature.
What if the average speed limit across town (aka, local "speed limit") is the speed limit or 5-10 over? Yes, the average speed in my town is at least 5-above (50 on a 45. It's more common than you think. Even the local cop cars follow that local rule.). In fact, it's so enforced, late at night, anyone following every-single-traffic-rule and following speed limit or going 5-below is a sign of a drunk driver (driving paranoid as it's regarded), and are more likely to get pulled over. Heck, I've even seen the local authorities get annoyed with these same annoying drivers I mentioned.
I think one time I was pulled over by one of these same slow/bad drivers before while being pretty pissed off at me for "driving wild". Note: I was following all traffic laws and shown speed limit in broad daylight (and many others were driving just like me), and was actually patient with him the whole way through, whereas they were driving 30 on a 45 with 1 driving lane, and I just passed by them when it finally forked into 2 lanes going the speed limit as I passed (along with at least six other cars and a semi-truck). Now THAT's idiotic. I even explained them the road sign, and they got even angrier at me to the point of road rage; I'm not kidding. It also begs me to ask this question; what is it about me that makes people want to bully me so much?
↓: Spoken truth. Of course, admitting my own driving flaws by doing so.
