SpaceAction - Maybe without the action
« on: September 10, 2011, 07:02:56 pm »

Just in advance, Sorry for all the terrible names and stuff.

Well, I thought that maybe I could try creating a forum game inspired by the "Spaceyard Manager" thread. So in this thread, you can basically do whatever you want. You can buy ships, make ships, make stations, buy stations, make products, be a pirate or something, etc. etc. You start out with 1000 credits, which could buy you a small scout ship, or something similar. I'm going to try to keep this simple-ish, though.

Every "Turn", I'll create a new post with the current status, The status below this is just the starting status. The character will do what the majority suggests, as long as it isn't "drive into teh sun", or something like that.

You should really look to the wilderness for your stealth ideas, it has been doing it much longer than you have after all. Take squids for example, that ink trick works pretty well, and in water too! So you just sneak into the dam upsteam, dump several megatons of distressed squid into it, then break the dam. Boom, you suddenly have enough water-proof stealth for a whole city!

Head to Ye Olde Galactic Bar.
Start assembling a crew. One cannot run around space without a mechanic. Try to find one that has "problems" and will accept a share of profits, instead of cash up front.

Just realized I forgot a few vital parts in the Status, Specifically Crew Members + Normal Inventory, and changed the station from Civilian to Merchant.
Currently drawing up an extremely crude station map in paint.
Finished it.

No. Its sort of like a space-car, I guess. So that means extremely little cargo space, no weapons, and no crew.

..But you could always modify it, of course.

Go get a weapon, and ducttape it onto our space car.

You mean duct tape it to our Pirate Space Taxi correct?

You have no weapons/duct tape in your inventory, currently, though.

Go to the goods trader and offer your services as a courier.

Go to the goods trader and offer your services as a courier.
You walk over to the goods trader and ask him about a temporary job as a Courier.
"Well, I guess there's one job I need done. Its pretty simple, but the package is pretty heavy."
You tell him about your ship.
"What? The package is heavier then your ship. I could lend you one of my inferior cargo ships for the job, though I wouldn't pay you as much."

I say decline, I kind of like the idea of a taxi service, see if anyone at the inn needs a ride.
