Suggestion: Auto-NPC'd if a player doesn't show up for a set amount of time, killed second time. Encourages reliable posting, and failing that, allows quick moving on and players who are reliable to fill the slot.

i'd say auto away players with the quality of the action decided by die roll.
1: "commit suicide" (eg.:I poke the demon with a pointy stick!;I cast lightning bolt on the supercharged-almost-exploding portal!)
...
6: "something vaguely useful"

I wasn't really waiting on Darvi. I just seem to go by Valve Time when updating.

He shall be replaced with <someone> when I update.

Seriously, i don't want this to die. It would be the 4th MTG related game to die on this forum.

Player reinforcements will appear next morning.

Dwareval'il'ik:
{4}+1 vs {6} - The kobolds bravely manages to run into the other room, close the door, grab a chair, and wedge it against the door just before his pursuers begin trying to enter. With no other exits in the room, he hides in a light fixture, and they spend the next hour tearing apart the room looking for him. When they finally succeed, they're tired and very angry (-1 to their rolls). All four are currently in the room, with one guarding the door. Dwareval'il'ik's companions are likely still unconscious and tightly bound in the other room.

Irosus:
{1} vs {3} Irosus begins snarling in a bug-like way. A little peasant girl walking by with her father loudly proclaims how cute it is. The guards are unamused, and one fires a crossbow as a warning shot. {4} vs {3} Irosus decides against jumping into the bolt's path, and it sails by harmlessly.

Frelock:
{5} - The guards accept Frelock's answer, although they seem displeased by having to escort a telepath.

Toaster:
{1}-1 vs {1} - "I'm innocent."
"No, you!"
"Yes, I am innocent."
"No! memorized your face and vowed revenge! You will rot for what you did to me."
"Then kill me! Or you you too weak to follow through?"
Kilthari moves to strike Toaster down, but stabs her own foot.
"By the Surreal Masters, I will spend every day for the next century torturing you, never letting you die for the humiliations you have wrought upon me!"
Unable to take the strain from his still open wounds, Toaster falls unconscious again.
Kilthari: -1 HP

It's slightly past noon.

Enemies:
Against Toaster:
Kilthari - 3/1 - Standing over Toaster.
Guards - 1/2 - Pursing IronyOwl
Guards - 1/2 - Escorting Frelock

Slavers - 2/2 (-1 to rolls) - Attacking Dwarmin

Spoiler: Dwareval'il'ik (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Irosus (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Frelock (click to show/hide)

I waited a month for this. :P

Dwareval'il'ik surrenders! Tell them I'd make a very good slave, anyway. Non-standard game over?

Continue to go with the guards.  Make light (telepathic) conversation with them to improve their attitude towards me.

So let me get this straight- the guards left, leaving me (unconsious) alone with Kilthari?

Well, time to do what I should have done in the first place.

Wake up and summon the warrior squad!  Have them subdue without killing (if reasonably possible- kill her if need be) Kilthari.

If the guards are still with us, same plan, but try to get the guards to join me and abandon her.

Also, welcome back!

Decide now is a good time to leave. Attempt to. If harassed by guards, nonlethally club them like baby seals.
