I imagined them as a combination of a Bedouin tent and a yurt.

EDIT: Each family would have their own tent with their belongings. There would also be several spare tents, just in case.

I think I described my old tent in my first post. Basically a lot of stitched together hides, which is packed up - or more part folded up, part taken to pieces, and part rolled together, so that it can be carried to the next area - usually by the apprentice.
Even though we're nomads, I assumed you'd already appropriated time towards building a yurt at each stop, and the tent would take less time than that.
- Is that what you meant? Or did you want to know something more specific?

And yes... pretty much. But I was also hoping to keep the burn ointment as a trade item...

Ahh, you are making Medicinal trade goods.

Okay. I get it now! :)

I've been picturing it as one giant tent. So yea, these details are generally important :)

Alright, I'll change it up a bit.

It kind of is one big tent - or interconnected spaces- but it's more of a workspace than living quarters. I and sometimes the apprentice would be the only people ever sleeping there, anyway.

Mafun will give the men ample time to focus on hunting this season, with the various building projects for now completed.
He will however have one man work together with some of the women to make hide blankets and clothes for the coming winter, two men will be, as always, on guard duty, and one further warrior will go with Mafun on an exploratory mission. For a while Mafun will simply focus on weaving more basket-helms and rope, experimenting with using bone instead of wood for spears and daggers, and continuing his language lessons with the women and children, possibly moving on to teaching them some of the Mokoli traditions.

Later on in the season, Mafun will take one warrior and one of the smarter women- preferably one of the younger, less-attractive ones to avoid too much attention from strangers- who has done well in language lessons, arm themselves with basket helms, clubs and their finest clothing and set out with a small selection of woven basket-goods to try and peacefully meet the neighbours.

If/when they manage to find anyone, they will try and work together in both their spoken languages to greet them, display their peaceful intentions and attempt to learn about their surroundings. They will offer a length or two of woven rope as a friendly gift.

(Edit: Just added a line break for easier reading. :) This should be interesting! )

Winter is Over!

I've automagically given all of the El-Effhichen their own tents. That's easier than dealing with all the issues associated with it. I've also issued 2 goats to each "family" to ensure that they all have the ability to take their belongings with them.
The RNG really likes the idea of you all working with the Kodana appearently. First it allows Azkul to convince the chief to ignore his friend, then it allows Micelus to stop an immediate raid on the El-Effhichen despite not being able to communicate very well. Also guys, as of spring, the herd is gonna be out of control unless you all help watch it.
Spoiler: El-Effhichen (click to show/hide)

I expected something from Gokanloa after last turn report. Meh.
Spoiler: Gokanloa (click to show/hide)

Extra, extra! Read all about it! Mafun takes a dangerous risk and survives! You are hella lucky Yoink. The women still under guard, and you decide that they are trustworthy enough to go into a village dominated by their previous culture type. Then through an inital bad roll, then a series of lucky rolls, you manage to keep the strangers from decending on you all in an explosion of violence.
Spoiler: Mokoli (click to show/hide)

I am giving the exact numbers here so Yoink understands how much food each group brings in.
The 14 Men, plus one partial man, brought in 546 days worth of food.
The five women, plus one partial woman, managed to bring in 945 days worth of food.
The Mokoli needs in the ballpark of 2430 days of food. It brought in a little over 88 and a half days of food tribe-wide. That is close enough to 90 days for the tribe that I just round it off. Anything with less than 15 days shortfall I round to 0, anything with 15 days or more I will either round to a solid month if the tribe is doing well, or start with the .5s if the tribe needs every bite it can get.

Get any spare member of the tribe to make spears out of wood and sheep bone. Slaughter some sheep to get this. Shear a quarter of the sheep and send off the wool to Utia. Breed the ravens and halla. Meet with the leaders of Utia and ask him/her/them exactly why the slaves must be slaves. Offer them some trade goods (sheep, recorders, etc.). Continue work on the alphabet. Get some of the ex-slaves to train with the use of spears.

Continue teaching, continue work on the alphabet, continue personal instruction of apprentice and begin researching the religious structure of the Utia.

Continue teaching, continue work on the alphabet, continue personal instruction of apprentice and begin researching the religious structure of the Utia.
Think Greekish. Pantheon of gods and such.

Travel to the Utia village, taking some of the tribe's sheep (about 100) as trade goods, assess what goods they have for trade and their general societal/technological status (taking a translator with me).

Also, is my wife competent in any sort of skills at all?
Read the turn and evaluate if this is a good idea. Your wife has skills common to Kodana slaves. The ones you are aware of would be Adobe building construction.

Train w bow (if micelus allows i could train some of your militia to use bows?) and watch herd.
You understand that there are exactly 18 adults in the El-effhichen, right? Half are male, half are female. El-effhichen don't use women warriors. That means you have 9 fighters. Over half of them are players. There isn't really a militia.

Feel free to train them with bows. It's just that you don't have a "Militia". You have 5 players, a 40 year old chief, a former slave, and 2 others for your entire military force.

Prepare some sand dunes and flood defenses and stockpile food and resources in the calm before the storm.

Sorry, I was sick.
