Notice to El-Effichen players:

We need to decide which way to go.

Having advanced weaponry would be useful, but due to our relative weakness, the people of the west  may just decide to raid us.

The beetle thing is probably just a rumour or something else more mundane. Still, could pose some danger.

The stone city to the northeast holds some interest, but what would we do there? We have nearly nothing to trade.

My action:
Talk with the Patriarch on which way we'll be going.

Suggest seeing these stone buildings or perhaps searching out farther north.

Talk with the hunters. Ask them if I could have some of their hides. Will be painting on them. Might be able to make them into a trade good. (I'm asking the players in other words)

Bring along a few youths and go on a short scouting trip. Look for new plants and animals. If camels or horses are seen, put the rope over one of them and bring it back to camp.

Speak with our new members. Ask them what tribes they came from. See if the weaver knows any materials that can be used for weaving.

(Also where did I get my own private herd of sheep?)

(Oh, and yeah, it might be a good idea to only do this weekly. Trying do update frequently does make it tedious at times.)

If we're going to be nomad-ing one way or another, I'm stuck between north and west. My religion is based almost entirely on carvings, idols and weapons, so I'd love to learn more about the quality of the work they do to the west- however you're right that it could be dangerous. The stone people to the north also seem intriguing, but they could also be hostile, so it's a risk either way. Just depends how we want to expand our tribe.

I didn't notice that I started with 0 skill...
Your skill is higher than 0, and to be fair you probably should have been given a chance to have "failures and mistakes" to give you a better shot at making a fine quality item. On the other hand you aren't exactly swimming in prime pieces of wood, seeing as you are on a plain. Sure you can find wood, but the quantity available isn't as great, so chances are you couldn't afford failures and mistakes. Meh, I'll allow more "failure" efforts next time I guess. Something to keep in mind is that the spear wasn't "botched", it's a perfectly serviceable spear. Average quality craftsmanship. It just isn't superior.

try to hunt whatever i find around the herd
Not quite sure what you mean by this.

...
The Patriarch currently intends to go in a easterly direction, since the next clanmeet is that direction, but he is perfectly willing to go in any direction. He reminds you that the tribe has a responsibility they have to meet in providing 700 sheep at the next clanmeet.
He has ordered new warrior to hunt with Ahra. So expect a better outcome in your next hunt. Between the three of you who are talking about hunting, there might be a shot to do something bigger and more effective.

Ahra is the only one with hides. He has 3. Just ask him.

Camel-like creatures have once been seen by a trader in a Northwesterly location. The trader never revealed where he was from. No horses have ever been seen. You could always attempt to rope the deer-like pray animal. With Ahra's help you could probably find one quite easily.

The Shearer and partner came from El-kekein. The Warrior came from Ignis-Al. The Weaver and one of the females came from El-Ejesaq, the remaining female came from El-Opalq. Such people trades are fairly common amongst the Clan. Clan lines used to be more solid, but when central authority broke down the population of a lot of core clans slipped and this became required to prevent inbreeding. It existed before the clan leader became a solid figure for awhile too, so it wasn't unheard of when the clan went back to it. They are all part of El-Effichen now, so where they came from isn't very relevant.

You've had a private herd for awhile now. Everyone would have if not for the "unique" starting conditions of your tribe preventing me from raising them up from within your tribe (2 adults). Actually a lot of what brought the warrior and shearer in was that they had small herds and the chief gave them sheep as bribes to join his tribe. Then there was sheep payment for the women, which are all technically his "daughters" right now in the role he has over them. Of course he mainly wanted them so he wouldn't have to deal with toddlers and infants, so yea.

Finally, You guys aren't "capturing" territory, so you aren't really "expanding" your tribe. As nomads you expand your tribe via population or bigger herds. One supports the other. Of course nothing is really stopping you from settling down. You aren't exactly following any major game animal that you rely on for food. You instead move your herds over land. Having adequate forage for those herds is all that really prevents you from settling down. But until you do that, "expanding" in a direction isn't really possible, since you have nothing to expand with. I guess it technically counts if you consider yourself contracting in the exact opposite direction...

Ahra/NDRL, could you help me capture a few of these "deer"?  If we capture them we acquire another food source, A source of hides, and mounts if we breed them well enough.

Actions:

If Ahra/NDRL agrees, capture some deer and tame them. Proceed to breed them.

Breed the sheep.

Shear a quarter of the sheep.

Request for the tribe to go in a Northeastern direction simply because no news has come from that direction.

So you're saying that the greater chance of failure, the greater the chance of a critical success?
The reason I said I started with '0 skill' was because I went back to the OP, and on my character profile I had nothing about my wood-skill. Therefore I assumed 0 skill.
And when I said 'expand the tribe', I meant research- knowledge wise. Better spears, or better construction.
