The Mokoli travel generally southwards. The Kovan thinks them dead, so they don't encounter any great patrols. At one point they feel eyes on them, but nobody appears to cause them problems. They eventually get to a point where the nature of the trees and environment starts to change. They find a nice hill and begin to setup fortifications.
The Women are moderately successful in their foraging efforts, and do an exceptional job considering they are bound and uncooperative. The men aren't quite so successful. The tribe manages to scrape together just enough with their month of stocks to feed themselves during the journey. With Mafun's efforts, four of the women seem to have accepted their fate. Two remain defiant. The spear usage for the primarrily club-wielding Mokoli did not go well. Also getting equipment for all the hunters with just you weaving and no stockpiled vines wasn't successful. A few of them did get spearholding baskets. Most did not. Both the men and the Women were a little too occupied to learn to make a passable basket. Your group is not nomadic by nature and the traveling made it just about impossible to teach this stuff. The men did seem to find it a little insulting.
One of the warriors has asked Mafun what he intends to do with the women (Distribute them to the tribe, take one for yourself then distribute the rest, kill and eat them all, make them public property, sell them to another tribe nearby, free them and see what happens, make them fight to the death in an improvised ring, exc.) (Them as a group, not them as individuals. Please no graphic details. Thanks
)
The grumbling got worse and Mafun was challenged for leadership of the Mokoli. They exchanged several blows but each seemed to be holding their own, until the warrior made a mistake. In an effort to hurt Mafun he lowered his shield to a bad angle. Mafun took advantage of it. He grazed the shield and smacked the warrior on the head. The warrior went down at an odd angle. He partially landed on his shield. it splintered and his head was severed. The head rolled to a stop in an odd position. One of the warriors kicked it and saw that the bones in one section had been caved in by the force of Mafun's blow. The warriors looked at Mafun with a new respect and all the grumbling ceased.
