I should have checked this mid-week, but it's been a hell of a week for me. The El-effhichen sheep herd is way out of control. Tak'am has other duties this season that prevent him from changing his orders. I'll be checking back in about 4 hours or so to see if anyone changes their orders. I'm assuming Azkul spends his entire time with the herd since he talked about doing it in addition to hunting, seeing as his skill was desperately needed. (I think I did express previously how close to out of control the sheep were? Well it's like this. With Azkul, Micelus, all the men who can, and the children, you got about 60% of the lambing herd under control. There's gonna be some losses even if everyone took an active role.)

Right now Nix and Ahra are both going to be doing a Buffalo Drop. Ahra is the best herder in the tribe, so this would probably mean a great deal of meat. It could also ensure that a larger amount of the herd isn't at risk.

So I'm giving this 4 or so hours then running the rest of the turn.
I feel I should probably mention now even though the turn isn't finished that Nix's wife died to illness, as did some others in the tribe, but that was the only player effect it had.

My Nephew wants to do something with me, so I've decided to postpone it until Sunday.

Only 6 people in the El-Effhichen died, and 1 was born. So yea, not quite the Mokoli plague... For the El-Effhichen. I won't say anything beyond that and that :)

The Gokanloa was absolutely uneventful. Mafun was challenged for Leadership. He was injured but emerged victorious over a Mokoli warrior. (23 rounds of bad luck for the warrior. I couldn't believe it. I imagine the warriors who were grumbling were equally shocked, and Yoink probably will be too when he reads this. Mafun secured his place with that and won't be challenged again for awhile.)

So because of all of the stuff I'm doing I can't look after the herd?

Which means I CAN fit in all of the stuff from my previous turn?

Also, the spring ritual would get some sheep out of the way. How many more would we need to cull to keep the herd under control?

It's more like too little people than too many sheep

Yes, but we don't pop out a bunch of adults every spring.

If I excuse the teens and older children from class for the muster, can they help look after the herds?

He has made a promise to several clanmembers for a certain amount of sheared wool in exchange for more sheep. he has added 300 sheep to the flock, but has to deliver 700 sheep or the equivelent at next Clanmeet.

Does that mean that at the next clanmeet, we lose 700 sheep?

But...We don't have that many sheep! I retract my order of killing my sheep.

It may mean we have to deliver 700 sheep worth of wool at the next clanmeet, I am not quite sure.

Plus, a problem is that we shear in winter, and that slows us down, and we have birthing and clan-meet in spring, and that uses up all of our labor.
It's actually really nice how we have easily defined problems we can work our way past eventually.

Waiit...

One thing: If the disease starts to act before the Clanmeet, convince the Patriarch to stay away for now and send someone who isn't diseased (me?) to meet with the people we owe sheep to. Bring as many sheep as possible.

Well I have the disease resistant trait, so I would probably be least likely to become infected

I'm pretty sure we can't randomly instigate quarantine suddenly. We'll just have to accidentally decimate a bunch of El clans. If that's even what he was talking about.
