Yoink...
You are heading more towards the Kovan than away from it..
Also, the females will be uncooperative in deliberate efforts for the benefit of your tribe. Remember that these are Almache women captured in the fall.

El-effhichen...
Almache/Kovan are part of the Daluche, which your !xa!xo' would be part of. So yea, !xa!xo' is a little unusual of a name.
Children, like the herd, need adequate control points or face a steep mortality cliff. Most children are under the Chief's direct care, as they are orphans and the tribe is organized in a Patriarchal sort of way. That means unwed females stay under their daddy's direct supervision, and the Chief is the daddy surrogate. Your tribe has 2 infants and 2 toddlers. These are the only people that require control points. It's the same system as evacuating the children when attacked, so Teens provide control points. This means control of the whole gaggle can be accomplished by the chieftain. In reality since the infants have mothers, it's only the toddlers that require extra care, and the children and teens require instruction by the Shaman. Being able to speak the language IS a requirement for toddlers or having teen helpers, but besides that there is no skill levels. Part of being the appropriate race. So yea, there is greater worry over the Herds than there is over the children. Especially since spring is breeding season and your herds are about to get significantly bigger...
Part of a shaman's responsibility would be taking care of the kids (because your behavior so far makes me think this would be a traditional role for your tribe.) That instruction IS important for the long-term survival of the tribe, as it gives the base skills for your tribe. If it started slacking off, I'd have to consider how to deal with your basic tribal skill level. I assume it's easily handled though as long as you are in direct contact with the tribe. Nothing in Tack's orders makes me think he can't keep educating the kids and accomplish all 3 priorities.
The El Effichen are patriarchial. You can't really be sexist with them. In fact, you'll probably have trouble with other people if you suddenly start letting your wife tend the herd or do anything that requires them to leave the communal yurt.
For the El Effichen travel, Your chief made promises for the next summer meetup. As such, Spring travel time is spent heading there. Any other request will be refused.
NRDL, you have Two spears. I need to update the OP showing appropriate items. I'll get on that now.
