Are the Mokoli honour hunters? Would they prioritize going after a high value target rather than quantity?

They have human bone piercings, tattoos all over their bodies, and bits of human bone tied into their hairy bodies and clothing.
They are beasts in the Almache mind. Anything beyond that is up to you to determine.

Once again, try to corral and kill animals, and look after the herd

Anything else you can tell me about the terrain?

It's very thick jungle. Some small folds and defiles in the ground where water runs along when it rains, but relatively flat otherwise. Your tribe is in a small clearing which a little effort was put forth to flatten some of the thicker parts of the vegetation so as to provide a temporary livable space until the group gets moving again. There is no hill or ditch large enough within range to provide any advantage to your group.

Not quite sure exactly what you are looking for. You don't have time to really prepare the site to your advantage. The Matron did have that opportunity several other times but chose to squander that opportunity in the hopes that the Mokoli would cease pursuit. Those locations are some distance in the past. A confrontation at this site was not anticipated. You could try to encourage the matron to fall back to a more suitable site, but the reasons she isn't running full away are the same reasons that probably won't go so well for finding better terrain either. The Mokoli will be able to fan out through the clearing you are in easily enough, and could probably get around defenders and hit the flanks as well. The clearing is large and kind of shifts gradually back into the forest, meaning that the vegetation gets progressively thicker as you go further out, but the thin area is large enough for all this operation to be going on inside it. There is a small pool of water fed by a small rivlet on the southeast side, but you could walk through the pool and the rivlet is no obstacle at all. In fact your group was partially responsible for the pool being there at all. The whole area is partially shaded by overhead canopy and the odd tree standing in the "clearing", but it is much thinner overhead canopy than otherwise. Still too thick for your hidden squadron of attack helicopters to see you in time :)
Seriously though, exactly what are you looking to find out?

Well, considering this is a clearing, I think anything else constitues better terrain...

I'm guessing they aren't expecting a fight?

No, they are fully expecting the fight. They are there with the intent to fight you. They have been tracking you for quite awhile to attack you. You aren't surrounded by trained warriors exercising noise discipline, instead you are surrounded by kids. They knew you were there once they got close.

You can certainly try. Keep in mind that there are 19 of them, you are injured, and for whatever reason they just pursued your tribe for two months across some pretty thick jungle.

So, I just technically have to use logic then?

Feel free to use logic. I'd say that the 2 months of pursuit through jungle pretty much sums up the fact that logic and reasoning won't work. I won't go into the specifics, but the chances of you successfully using your charisma to persuade a group of hostile men who have just crossed the known world and beyond (to both you AND them) whom you don't even have a language in common to leave you in peace without a fundamental change in the balance of power is... slim.

They're like those rainforest ants I saw on TV- They just strip the food from the entire forest as they march. :P
They probably eat anything that moves...

How?
Well, there's many ways they could be pulling it off. The exact way only Yoink has a right to know, unless you manage to defeat them and find evidence supporting one of the ways. Based on what I know it is, it'd entertain me if you pulled that off...
The exact way fits within one of three overall methods though. I will narrow it down by saying it isn't in method #3.

1) They are carrying it, in a similar way that your tribe is currently carrying food supplies. This does have the disadvantage of reducing overland speed and endurance, since 5 months of food (the supplies your own people have) represent some pretty damn significant amount of weight. A common way to pull it off would be to use a Travois, which is simple to make and how your tribe is carrying it's food.

2) They are acquiring it while traveling. Hunting and foraging can be done along trails and still keeping going in a general direction. This requires some element of luck and is a risk, but individual hauling of materials is lessened, so it actually allows faster land travel, allowing time to be taken out to hunt or forage.

3) Trading with natives. If they know where tribes friendly to them are, they only need enough food to the next village and trade goods and they can be sure to travel with very little food.
