Anyway, occlusion IMPLEMENTED. (right now working according to Japa's idea). Did some abstractions like make semidecent convert real-to-screen locations (and need to make a viceversa) for the mouselook.

Works great except one bug (don't know if you've seen it yet)
If you hold 2 directions at once so you go horizontal, you can slip between 2 diagonal blocks. So if the blocks are like
x
  x
    x
it would still be passable by this "exploit"

Hehehe indeed. It's because your size is 0, haven't implemented sizes yet. I also want to "slide": if you walk into a wall at an angle, you'll slide along the wall with your resultant vector instead of standing still immediately.

Also, I need to hurry or noone will be able to play it.   ??? ::)

I used to use chrome, but seriously? The new IE is dead sexy. I know in the past it was a laughable POS, but now it is really good, and I will use it till the day something else gets better.

Of course judging things by their merits is a good thing. But there are limits. Some crimes are unforgivable.

That's one of them, right there. Also, IE has shortened my life by several years already. It cannot be redeemed unless it singlehandedly finds a cure for cancer or something.

Finally got music playback of MP3 working, yay. Can't figure out how this whole jar thing works, but maybe that's because it's past 2 am...

Not for now, but could you resample that and super skeery to something more portable? 2Mb per song really adds up to the size of the thing, and I'm not sure if I've got time to do it streaming...

This is looking awesome looking forward to it when its finished. Btw will you be releasing the source code? if been working on a game in java my self and i wouldn't mind seeing someone elses work, because in all honesty at the moment i'm slamming my head against the keyboard and hoping it works. It was only a matter of time until my computer science teacher couldn't help anymore i suppose

Yes, source will be released, but right now eGit doesn't play nice with github, and I'm too lazy to update to github manually using msys command line.

Haven't done too much last week, sick relatives and taking care of them and all left me mentally drained. Couldn't even be assed to solve a simple two-variable-two-equations (namely, a convert screen-to-grid xy function, which is the reverse of the grid-to-screen). I'm getting pretty good at Aliens vs Predator, though :P. Also, I HATE it that the backgroundmusic works locally when debugging, but if I upload the whole shebang to the website it doesn't work anymore. A bitch to debug.

You might think "meh, music" but someone has put effort in it (and it sounds awesome) so I feel obliged to put it on my priority list.

Slamming head against keyboard and hoping for the best is what everyone does, it seems. There's soo many different tutorials out there, each with it's own version of initialisation and gameloops, that it seems there's no such thing as "best practice". You'll find out the obvious pit-holes yourself ;)

well at least im doing something right yeah i got to a point where i said screw tutorials for the sole reason that in the time it takes me to read, understand and code whats in the tutorial i would have figured it out my self with a few hilarious results mind you.
