Yes. Although pilots have a bigger chance of getting a vehicle as a choice.

Yeah, it's random every level up. Like Jacen said, Pilots get an extra chance to get vehicles. Getting the Smart ability also gives you three choices per level up instead of two.

Also, I always thought the thing Pilots got was just "your vehicle will proc more", not "you're more likely to get a vehicle upon levelling"?

I think the only enemy was a spy who was trying to infiltrate, but didn't get into the first wave. No enemies onscreen + no backup = instawin. I've had an instalose just like that.

Got my fifth guy to his classes, and he received... either a pilot or scout. Sigh. With no saboteur, I think I can't continue. And making one of my guys a spy made him suck horribly, he's just not cut out for spy work.

Of course, spies and saboteurs are no use against rats whatsoever, so there's that.

Also, I really do think pilots get the "your vehicle will proc more" effect and that the motorcycle is a vehicle. I have two days now of seeing two of Human Wave's recruits, both shotgun guys with motorcycles, hop on their motorcycles almost every single time to shoot people in the face. If you've got a shotgun biker guy in your squad, I think pilot might be extremely good.

Addendum: vrooming on a motorcycle to shoot rats in the face turns out to be a fairly poor strategy though

Addendum addendum: I can vouch for 31st Infantry being a real bitch to take down - Atomizer has two sabs, rolled up against 31st for their inflitration mission the day before yesterday, and got squashed every single time.
