Might want to mention in the first post the diminishing returns on recruitment so people inclined to do so will look for someone with the full 100 coin referal to sign up with.
OK, I did. Anyone who's reached 0 [T] should probably edit out their links too. At that stage, most of my income comes from the trickle from raids. Raids really start ramping up in difficulty, so you'd want quality recruits more than quantity, especially since the enemy starts getting perks that benefit from kills.
Also a few more tips:
- Initiative is the game winner against large armies! All weapons are about as good, but who shoots first has the advantage. And if you have say, a 2-1 numeric advantage, you get 2 times more attacks than the enemy. It's not real-time, it's turn based, and more troops/initiative mean more turns.
- Glue grenades are quite useful because of this. Also why twinoid is one of the deadliest skills in the game... by the time the twinoid poison kicks in, your guy will have reloaded his shotgun twice and punched a third person to death.
- Minigun definitely needs more initiative, as they're devastating in battle, but very slow to start.
- Speed isn't as good on non-dodgers, since the first person to the target will get mowed down by the enemy troops.
- Poison grenades alone can wipe out half the squad if used early.
- Snipers should always have a secondary weapon! Bazooka is great if you have improved aim on that sniper, otherwise any other weapon is good, since by the time they run out of ammo, most enemies will be in close range.
- Don't go more than 4 troopers! Your power rating will go up, but you'll still be starting a round with only 4 troopers. It means stronger enemies but your troops don't get better. The additional troopers will come in later, but by then, you've already been overrun. If you intend to go more than 4 troopers, try to get Survivor on one of your better early guys, so you'd be fighting with an extra man on the second round.
- If you do get more than 4 troopers, don't give the extra guys long distance weapons like snipers and bazooka, because by then, the enemy is already in your half of the area (and if the last kill was by a sniper, that sniper would be out of ammo most likely).
- Knifes are awesome vs rats, not so vs other troopers.
- If you're using sniper or pistol, set a favorite target!
