Well, what should I really focus on?

Level up your guys, try to get Rogauer a shotgun of some sort (preferably either a scattergun or pump-action), and once your guys reach level 6, try to get comms officers, saboteurs, and maybe a scout.

EDIT: Have another recruit, too. Eventually the raids will become your main source of money and you can afford to dick around with fights you're not sure you can win.

I am still completely mystified by Revolverlution's ability to win rat missions, despite primarily toting pistols.

Also, Deathsquid's second rocket guy - Goldimes Jr, packs just a rocket launcher, and has Eye of the Tiger and On Point - just got Cold Blooded.  While not nearly as dakka as Mooson, he gets strikes in on the bunched groups and is much more reliable.  Explody!

That happens every now and then.  What're your dudes called, again?
Oh, Ochiman, that's right.  You look a little spread thin - you should focus on getting some hats (level 6), rather than new guys.  Comms Officers are the best in my opinion - they give occasional bullet-time buffs to your dudes, along with a few other cool bonuses  It's probably better to gun for variety rather than stacking multiple Comms bonuses, though - Saboteurs are good for fights against other armies, whereas Munitions are really helpful for rat missions.

Chumpchange squad is awesome.  They can even do rat missions!

Also this needs a skill called gun chucker: When your weapon is empty, your soldier throws it at a enemy for dmg/knockdown (if rifle or shotgun)/explosion (rocketlaucher)
