All of My Updates should be Read with a British Victorian Gentleman Voice.

OOC: Im going to come accross as a bit of an asshole sometimes. But dont worry. Its mostly just the way I phrase things. Well, mostly. :D

First Off;

It seems the inconsiderate git who ran this place before me, didnt have the common decency to Mine out a Quarters for Me.
No, he just runs off, and I wind up with his Job. Obviously.
So, to begin with, I get My own Residence.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Next, I have some different Ideas about what Defense is. Its Fixed now.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Tee hee hee hee hee. Good to know THIS IS OUR ONLY DEFENSE AGAINST EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING THAT COULD COME AT US FROM THE CAVERNS. Bloody Hell, ive got my work cut out.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Next, Poor Sirian needs someplace to Retire, methinks.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Thats about it for now. Gimme a couple of Hours to do some other stuff, and ill make an actual Update, rather than a Prologue.

EDIT: OOC; Sirian isnt actually gonna stay in there. He will for a bit, but its mostly IC that hes being "Retired". Ill "Find Out" that I have need of Him.

Savolainen5: Great storytelling there! It's amazing to see how big the fortress has grown already. Sad to hear about the goblin incident.

Edit: there was an actual goblin SIEGE on your turn? Hooray!

About the forgotten beast extracts: we could always do it the Ardentdikes way and cleanse the fortress with MAGMA.

10'Granite

Alrighty.
Time for a Special Project!
And dont expect me to tell any of you what it is until its done.
Suffice to say, a Big Room already exists that does something similar. But its obviously a bit outdated.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

What IS this.
[OOC; Someone actually tell me.]
I see no quantifiable reason for it.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

But enough Pondering. Now is a Time for Action.

Welp, weve got a lonely Blacksmith relaxing in the Magma Smelters, and I dont seem to be able to locate the Demons everyone keeps telling me about.
Nevermind THAT, either.
For now, I shall allow My Designated Work to be done, whilst pondering where to send an Exploratory Party through the Caverns, likely heading Northeast in search of more Adamantine; How to Secure the Caverns somewhat; And lastly, how big My Personal Shrine will be.

21'Granite
Apparently a fellow named Thotlig, who I may have noticed at some stage, scratching his Nose; Has created a Masterpiece. I am not Impressed.
Anyhow.
The Miners worked quickly. I admit to being Impressed by THAT.
The Furnishing is next. But thats another deal.
Some numbskull named Oddom became attached to his Iron Shield. I may see fit to Surgically Ammend this in future.
Progress is slowly being made, overall.

26'Granite
Now some quick Tunneling to a future Dig down toward what is theoretically Magma.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

How could this POSSIBLY end poorly.

Ive also spotted some movement outside the Gates. I didnt get a good look, though.

30'Granite

I hope our Military have steeled themselves.
They are to be stationed outside the Perimeterer of the Cavern were about to delve through and seal off from the Inside.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Whilst Sirian goes in and Explores.
Or, at least he WILL, when I find the dastardly cur.
He Volunteered, actually.
Well, I wasnt actually told When or for What. But at some stage he Volunteered to go Exploring, and im holding him to it.
I may send out a couple of other Expendables. Like our Bookkeeper, perhaps.
The twat probably hasnt seen any action yet, eh?
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Oooh, I sleeped in my own personal fucking PALACE recently, she says.

Also, Migrants! YAY! All the potentially soon-to-be-dead have been Replaced!

I guess some overseer before me REALLY wanted gneiss and microcline, eh? Maybe it could be transformed into a giant magma chamber!

I really dont know. Its a fair bit bigger than what you see - It goes off the screen a fair bit more.

Im tempted to make it a Temple.

So if there was some "Original Plan" for the Room, kindly tell me now, and ill take that into account when I decide what to use it for :)

Heh, thanks, I've been reading Migrursut: Goodness is a Choice in here, and Heavy Flak's amazing storytelling inspired me to attempt an amateur imitation of his style!

There was a siege, and it was awesome. Sadly, I didn't have time to off as many goblins as I'd'a liked.

And sorry about using cleanmap. I have this compulsion to keep the floors utterly clean. I have a paranoia of bloody floors and of low fps.

I don't have much free time these days. Could someone take over guiding the fort? Thanks!

That was me. It served two purposes:

1. We were running extremely low on all ores, and I needed silver for the weapon traps. We had 10 silver before this room.
2. In preparation for my miner-military squad; this room trained them quite well.
3. THOSE LAZY SUNSABITCHES I DONT PAY THEM FER NOTHIN'!

20'Slate

I found Sirian!
At last.
Unfortunately, he seems to have just dragged himself into his new Quarters to slouch down onto the Bed.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

So you know what? He can Rest, in his Quarters for now. He is refusing any Instructions, and Im tempted to seal him in, and make that place his Grave.
I shall send...
The Book Keeper, naturally.
And Her Squad.

23'Slate

Welp, apparently the Bookkeeper has better things to do than what shes told.
The whole Squad showed up, besides her.
Well, ill "Fix" that later. For now, Exploratory!

26'Slate

Aw well look who decided to drag her slack arse over.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
This is unacceptable.
On the other hand, Sirian is being Cute.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Let the Journey Commence!

16'Felsite
A few Injuries;
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Ive rushed the Exploratory Squad over to cover Her whilst Help comes. I have NO IDEA what happened.
Theres also a Wounded Soldier.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I may need to Station one or two more Squads down in that new area of Cavern.

17'Felsite

In other News; My Residence is Finished!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
And My other Two Projects are underway.

And a Caravan arrived.

That will do, for this Entry.

Why would I drop Him in Lava?

Dont worry. When Project No. 2 is done, Him and Nix will learn to be more Obedient.

I surely hope you don't plan on giving ALL that room to yourself, the nobles would surely be jealous. Think of the nobles, man!

More importantly think of the epic hissy fit tantrum they're going to throw, sending the entire fort into chaos.
