And heres' the macro I use!

First the pokemons name, then the attack, then the target.

Middle is your accuracy plus any specials like burn or para.

Finally, put in your damage type, hit dice and roll away. Any extras after damage go onto the bottom. Simple!

Code: [Select]
Ujiken uses Leech Life on Kuji
Accuracy Roll: [d20] Hits on 2+
Bug Type Damage: [1d13+11+SPATK+STAB]
Half of damage returns HP

Now, you'll have to add line breaks of course. Quoting my thread will show them I think.

Ya know, I was looking at my Ward feat...

Quote
Ward: Roll d20 and add your DEX and CHA modifiers to the roll. If the total exceeds 20, the Wild Pokemon flees without fail. If the total exceeds 28, the Wild and any pokemon who are it's allies flee without fail.

@Haika: You think it would be possible for me to tone down the secondary affect? I mean, in the future my stats will be generally high enough to just chase away any encounter, and that's not exactly how I wanted to use this skill. It might also annoy the other players to randomly end an encounter. An easy choice would be to just allow me to only trigger the second effect if I wanted to, but that sorts of bleh with my idea of Ward being some sort of non-lethal device like a flash or stink bomb with short range.

I think I have a better idea. It's still pretty powerful, but probably not a match ender in most cases.

See, my thought of how to change it-fitting with flavor of course-is thus...I think it makes more sense. It's up you anyway, lol

Messing around with Homebrew stuff is fun even if the GM shoots you down. :P

Homebrew Variant Feat

Quote
Ward/Spook Bomb: The trainer hurls a specialized explosive pill that can repel Pokemon from the battlefield as with a flashbang grenade-other variants can be shock bombs, stink bombs or sonic bombs, used for specific species-they can be hurled at a range of ten, and do no damage to either trainers of pokemon.

Roll d20 and add your DEX and CHA modifiers to the roll. If the total exceeds 20, the Wild Pokemon flees without fail. If the total exceeds 28, Roll 1d6-that number of allies within 5 of the targeted pokemon also flee without fail.

Out of curiosity, would I be allowed to use butchered Pokemon bits for my item crafting feats to reduce or eliminate the cash cost? It would make sense for this campaign, because half the time I'll be in the middle of nowhere, unable to visit the army surplus store to purchase what I need.

I suppose that could work. But really I think the feat is fine as it is. If you really want to change it, I'll let you do so. But since we have started already, no changes until TL increase.

Quite possibly, however you don't have any butcher pokemon bits, right now only Rolf has any.

I dunno, I'm just iffy about the concept of blowing away whole encounters you genned up for us with one roll, and trying to explain that IC wise lol-it seems too much power for me.

Like, I also literally can't think of anything the non-mystic Kath could do to chase away an entire force of attacking Pokemons-like, multiple times a day eventually, from the entire field. I know it's not supposed to make sense anyway, but that messes with my roleplaying, which is fairly important to me.

Just say it is a ridiculous pulse of light from your styler. Think of it as a highly nerfed ranger version of the Sonic Screwdriver, and RPly use it for all your ranger feats. That is basically what my brother did in my meatspace campaign with Kuji.

Yeah, looking through the feats, *alot* of Ranger stuff is pretty much unexplainable without sonic screwdrivering the Styler. Not exactly what I had in mind, but whatever.

I guess I'll abandon my self nerf. Maybe there's some sort of item that replicates what I was looking for.

So, thinking about running an unscheduled game tonight, if I can get at least 4 people interested, I'll gen up an encounter for you all.

I'll probably load up the server in about a hour or two here. So if we manage to get 4 people online there and ready to play, We can go ahead.
