Just one question: How are we getting our first pokemon, and what ones?

Yes, your 'interview' gives you your starter.

Hm... are we doing standard, by the book leveling?

Pretty much. I might give out more TL's or exp for particular things as we go along, but mostly I'll try and keep to what the books say currently.

Speaking of starters, are there only going to be standard starting Pokemon? Or can you start with something like a Joltik? :P

Does Azure have any town naming conventions? (Like Kanto with naming everything after colors)

And I hope I can start with a skitty :3

Or, you know, give it to a collector.

Starters will be given by GM choice, based upon the questionnaire. :) And they should be quite unique.

What would happen to a Pokemon stuck in a Pokeball if the Pokeball was destroyed? Or discarded into an ocean or something and otherwise never seen again.

If destroyed, I believe the pokemon would be released. If just discarded or thrown away, the pokemon would remain in the ball, in stasis, until it was found again, or the material of the ball decayed or got destroyed by the elements.

"What would happen to a Pokemon stuck in a Pokeball if the Pokeball was destroyed?"

Depends. Sometimes the Pokemon cannot be released until it is fixed, and sometimes the Pokemon is released and attacks the breaker, unless it's the trainer. Depends on whether you're following Dirty Fighter or Liberator rules.

"Or discarded into an ocean or something and otherwise never seen again."

Um... it is never seen again?

Well, not by humans anyway. I would think that maybe a time-release feature would be less hazardous to the Pokemon inside. In case their trainers "forgot" them somewhere or dumped them into the still-wet foundation of a skyscraper.

Edit: Makes a note of this so he can market children/amnesiac friendly Pokeballs.

Hmm? Cities!

I'd like to name/describe three potential ideas. Naming conventions would be nice-I thought I would keep it simple though, in the spirit of the games.

Quote
Stormstead City
-"Starting from here, the Land of Azure was tamed."
-A large port city by the sea. Stormy weather is common-extensive beaches, hidden coves and bays, along with large tides make these an excellent area for exploration.
-Known as the first city colonized from sea in the Land of Azure in the ancient times, but it's not the capital anymore.

Ashmound Town
-"The quiet Grey town."
-Located within a forest of quiet grey trees, burned long ago by a volcanic eruption. They grew back wrong, for some reason. The land is rough to travel in, holding many secrets, and is rumored to be haunted.
-Known as a place of death and great sadness, not many people live here since the diasaster.

Bluepipe City
-"All good things flow from this city."
-A large, heavily industrialized city-many factories, warehouses, shops and refineries.
-Pollution, despair, and poverty are also heavy, but things were not always so.
-Alot of the city is collapsed and abandoned-with wild pokemon and gangs controlling entire sections where law has completely failed. It's dangerous to travel outside of the safe areas, but this is where most people have to live.
-Controls the vital supply of water and consumer goods to other towns within the region.
-Kathyrns hometown
