Head over to the island "admiral". Denzi can usually get you there if he's on at the time. Then make the inn your home and you'll be set for when the crew starts.

You can also /job players who are online and then add them to the crew, without even having to run a pillage or anything, once the crew is started up :)

You have to be jobbed in a crew to join, BTW...can't add offline people or people not jobbing.

Agree. We should go with Oiligarchic.

The crew has been made! Please contact someone on IRC for an invite. me on IRC or in game for an invite. I'll try to get someone else to be an officer so we can get more cabin officers.

If you would like to be an officer, please speak with me. I'll only be promoting people initially who have their own ship or will be able to run pillages when the other officers are offline.

Edit: Had a good ten or twelve people join the crew tonight and seemed we have enough people active to need a ship bigger than a sloop to pillage in when we are all on. You can check Yppedia for the stats but potential purchases could be a Cutter(12 crew), a Dhow(12 crew), a Longship(15 crew), or a Baghlah(18 crew) I think. For reference we have enough money to buy a War Brig (but I do not think we have the manpower to use one, as it fits 30))

Something else to consider after buying a second ship would be do you guys want to buy a house to hang out in? I heard something about crew halls from someone and will research it if people are interested in it. Also I'd like some suggestions for what is required from people to rank up (these requirements will be more lenient for people from Bay12 naturally, since I Feel we can more readily trust each other than random people who just joined the game).

An example would be that to become an officer, you only need to buy a ship if you are from Bay12. But if you are an unknown you might have to spend a few weeks proving yourself and then be tagged for officer training.

So we need gunners. It's one of the more involved mini-games and we need quick witted dwarves to man the cannons. Seems that Origin is a mighty fine gunner at this point, but we need others skilled in this. Practice up please to see if you have a knack for it.

I say we get a grand frigate and make up the difference by hiring 120 jobbers. :P

To build something that is strong and sustainable, i think a small and slow approach to begin is best. Slow and steady wins the race. I would refrain from trying to expand the crew too rapidly by recruiting in randoms. Rather I would suggest we get to know each other and how we work together first and build up when we are ready. Hopefully when we do recruit, we pick cool people that get our dwarfy vibe and dont rock the boat too much.

We havent even tried to go out yet on our own so I dont think we should entertain the idea of recruiting people in so fast. my 2.5 cents on the subject.

I was as well... I apologize if my suggestion we go from the smallest ship to the largest ship yet released in the game in one fell swoop was taken as serious.
We were talking about getting a slightly larger ship however, as when we went pillaging this evening we had to leave members waving on the docks.

As previously mentioned, I'm up for being an Officer so that we have the EU covered, although judging by the lack of anyone in IRC until the later hours I don't think we have that many.

edit: Hellyeah I want a crewhouse

I'll definitely agree  that we should not worry about expanding into non-Bay12ers for at least a little while, I did invite a non Bay12er with a recommendation from a Bay12er though and I figure something like that shouldn't rock the boat.

Once I get home tonight I'll try to get everyone I missed into the crew and get another officer up. For reference to any officers who attempt to add someone to the crew you have to send them a jobbing invite (/job piratename) then click on them and offer them to join the crew in a similar manner as to adding someone to your Hearty list

Edit: http://yppedia.puzzlepirates.com/Pirate_hall is a wiki page on the pirate halls and what they look like. Huge leap in price between 'decent' and 'fine' but I think you also get twice as many rooms. You can see what the rooms look like on another page linked at the bottom of the link provided
