Interesting, but how do you build a hoop? :D

Because DF players are heavily into pain.

For the hammer: it would be a 1 tile wide hole in the wall, through which you're trying to "golf putt" the creature through.  I would also suggest flesh balls, as they take minimal blunt damage.

I'm still stumped on the hammer-golf.

I have a dwarf-star superalloy war hammer (get the reference?), density 1000000, wielded by a dwarf with strength 10000.

I can cave heads in extremely easily, but have yet to have any sort of driving action. What else am I missing?

EDIT:

Also made a war hammer with a velocity modifier of 200000, still no flying. Made super-hammer size 1000. nothing. Any other values that haven't been mentioned that would help?

Did you try to increase the velocity multiplier of the weapon?

Hmm, now I'm not sure.  Copy-paste the raw for the weapon and material into a spoiler for me.  And go into the arena and k over it to check the weight, make sure it's supermassive.  Are you still hitting hydra, or go for something smaller?

I was never the one whacking hydra. I was hitting flesh balls the whole time.

Weapon is at 200 urists, no matter how heavy I make the superalloy I can't seem to get the shock hammer weight any higher.

Ok, I have no idea.  I heard that dwarven driving ranges had been nerfed, but I didn't know it was this difficult.  Maybe it's been removed entirely...

Mod Dwarfs (or make a new caste for this) to be huge, then it'll work. Look at Bronze Collosi!

Great Wyrm-
I recommend swinging the hammer in a circular motion.
Let me rephrase that.
Could you LIFT a hammer as heavy as half of Texas? I imagine that that would negatively impact your ability to use it as a weapon.

I've seen bronze colossi punch things a few tiles. Maybe you just need a MASSIVE size advantage?

Add a few 9's to the size of a dwarf, see how that goes in the arena with a dense material and ultrasonic war hammer.

You could just use water pressure or cave-in dust to fire them. That definitely still works.

Or mod an adventurer to make him stronger than Hercules and wrestle the cats yourself.

Wrestling/throwing would probably work quite well, assuming the target is small enough compared to the thrower.

I can verify that things can fly.

A bronze colossus, when swarmed by 100 cats, some of the cats WILL fly.
