you unlock the other factions only if you have the corresponding game. by the way, the first one is absolutely brilliant, so I voted for that.

solo play at dark crusade experience was quite weak, while I've to concede that's the best for multiplayer.

That was one the story's worse parts. Why the heck would a Librarian follow the anti-psyker Khorne? Relic is too obsessed with Khorne and his flakes. Give Tzeentch some love already. From what I've read the best guess at Blood Raven origin is a loyalist splinter/successor from the Thousand Sons anyway.

Did you not notice he actually lost his psyker abilities upon going Daemon Prince? Khorne distrusts psykers, but doesn't prevent them from worshiping him. You are thinking of the World Eaters, who actively go out of their way to murder psykers and sorcerers.

If a psyker desires to try and gain the favor of khorne, he most likely will lose his abilities if he gains his gifts, in the fluff this has happened as well in one of the older versions. Where psykers who worshiped him lost their abilities and gained physical abilities to match, sometimes their abilities actively being channeled into their body to increase their strength, but forever losing their abilities.

I have played both, though not a lot, and in a not-hardcore way... but to me, it seemed like soulstorm was just dark crusade plus two races...
