((Terribly sorry to do this to you, but I am going to have to withdraw. One of my professors just dumped an unanticipated amount of work on my shoulders, and I doubt I will have the time or energy to give your game the well-written dialogue it deserves. I apologize. :(

Maybe you could give my spot to Helioman?))
((Sorry to hear that, Heliman if your still interested PM me.))

Red sighed. This was not going to work. They were most probably going to die a very stupid death which could have been prevented. Red, however, would figure a way out and escape. Red took out his knife and started to carve into the walls. Through his eyes, he could see lines of light, like ley lines, follow the knife's point. Eventually, they showed the outline of a doorway, leading to the outside. Red raised his leg to kick down the doorway, and...

((Whoops, sorry for the delayed response.))

The door fell over, behind it is a large dark room. Before anyone could do anything though a loud siren went off, and gas seeped into the room. The contestants began to feel lightheaded, and eventually the fell to the ground unconcious.

In a large building somewhere along the multiverse, a man in a red suit sat at his desk. He never had an actual name, but he's had many over the years he's been alive given to him by friends and enemies alike. Although he recently has taken to calling himself Ace, partly because he became an avid fan of card games when he was spending his time on earth.

A young man entered the room. clad in security armor. "Sir! One of the contestants have tried escaping!", Ace sighed and said "Who was it? Was it the one with the robotic legs?". The guard replied "No sir, it was the one with Red hair. He apparently accessed some old ley lines and somehow opened up a door somewhere else."

Ace sighed once again, he didn't expect that one to be much trouble. But then again its always the ones who look less harmful than the others...

(I'll start writing up the intro to the first arena in a bit, expect the next story post in an hour or so. Feel free to write something if it makes sense to your current situation.))

The contestants awoke still disoriented from the gas, their location was different this time though. The first thing they noticed was the most obvious thing, it was as hot as hell out here. They were in a desert of course, miles upon miles of never ending sand with no water in sight.

Another thing that was easy to spot was the floating screens and camera's up above them, just out of reach. One of the larger screens floated in front of them, showing Ace's smiling face.

"Ah! I see you've awoken, time for the first challenge!", Ace grinned and continued "We decided this year that we just don't want the contestants running around killing eachother, it ends to quickly. So we have some "challenges" in place to keep the game lasting a bit longer. Now you may have noticed that its extremely hot out, and that there is no water. Now that is your first goal, a few miles north there is an oasis full of clear water, but only one person can enter it. Whoever gets there first gets to drink, and makes sure you do it before nightfall otherwise you'll end up freezing to death!".

And with that the screen flickered off, the game has begun.

The desert (or dessert...) was blazingly hot. In all his travels he had never found a desert this hot. Luckily, his mammalian comrades were probably not as used to heat as a hatcuri; things of blood and temperature he had read. Still it would be best to leave this heat. Tyetoechl took his tome and began to write with his ever useful pen. He described a beast of burden, of deserts, and travel. Yellowish-brown in fur, and hoofed. Filled with waters and fats it survived the deserts. He would bring up a camel with its humps filled with fat; to survive the journey. On a second thought, he also made it so the camel could understand  commands in his native tongue and be tamed. On a third thought, he created a leaf that could cover his head and protect him from the heat. As he finished his paragraphs, he closed the book and waited for the surge of pain. And without fail, it came and shook his body, but right in front of him was a good, healthy camel ready for travel and a leaf large enough to tie over his head. He put it on and got on the camel.

"And now, we begin to die. Good luck." Tyetoechl said to his fellows.

"To the oasis!" Tyetoechl said in his tongue and. The beast began walking with its rider to the oasis, hopefully not dying on the way.

Whirl got to his feet relatively quickly, charging his rifle on the way before securely fastening his mask and visor on. He didn't care for the bit of restriction in his breathing, but if gas was getting used, it was important that he have some recourse. It wouldn't help much if it was gas that worked on bare skin, but it was better than nothing. The soldier embarked immediately into his closest estimation of a motivational speech.

"I'm Soldier Sergeant Brayden of the Kukure Federation. As far as I'm tracking, we've been pulled out of our respective planes unwillingly by someone with gating technology in a class four kidnapping. As such, I'm authorized to offer you all asylum within the Fed and all steps will be taken to return you to your respective planes, if that's what you want."

"They're going to be looking hard for me, give 'em a while, and the Wayward Son will be above our heads and trash whatever game's being played here with orbital fire. While a few bats land to get us out. So, all we've got to do is survive until then, and maybe find ourselves a transmitter to make us easier to find."

"Anyway, who is with me?"

The soldier was doing his best to control his extreme concern. Whatever had brought him here was throwing around some serious juice to have that kinda plane-moving. Moreover, he knew that actually being able to trail him was not a sure bet at the best of times. However, he was SOS and he had a job to do his best to get the group back to safish space. Looks like they were all armed, and a c4 was often disrupted by the idiot god in charge failing to account for a bunch of heavily armed gladiators turning on him. If they could fuck up his plans and get to whatever gating tech he had, there was a chance that he could call the Cross or something. Half a plan was enough to control his panic, at least for the moment.

Felicia was surprised that the gas worked on her. It must have been enchanted somehow to effect undead. The hot sun of the desert didn't phase her, nor did she need any water. However, the mention of 'freezing' to death at night made her worry a bit. She doubted the desert would become cold enough to actually harm her, but it might be rather unpleasant... More unpleasant than her natural state anyway.

Watching the others react each in their own way, the flame spirit began to hover quietly beside the camel that one of the contestants summoned as they moved northward.

"And now, we begin to die. Good luck." Tyetoechl said to his fellows.
"Some of us have done that already..." Her words snap and crackle like a cosy fireplace.

Lieutenant Pierce pressed a hand against his forehead, and was surprised to find himself sweating. His body was inhuman in so many ways it seemed strange for his designers to have included such a detail. He'd never had the chance to find out if he needed to eat and drink. Hopefully not - he needed every advantage he could get to survive and escape.

The soldier in uniform - Sergeant Brayden, if he'd heard correctly - caught his attention. The man was throwing around confusing names and terms, but he was promising escape from this place. Brayden seemed confident in their chances of survival, unlike the strange lizard-man and the red-haired boy. He would no doubt be an useful ally.

Pierce strode over to him, only pausing for a moment to stare at a camel that had literally just appeared out of nowhere. He shouldn't have been so surprised - many of his new companions possessed abilities that bordered on the supernatural. Just highly advanced technology, no doubt. Magic was a laughable idea at best.

'Sergeant?' he asked the heavily-armed Brayden. 'I'm Lieutenant Pierce. You seem to know more about all this than anyone else. These different... planes, as you said. Have you heard of a place called New Hong Kong?'

As the camel marched forward, the burning one followed. It murmured that it had already died. Hmm...interesting. Undead perhaps...

"Dead? I don't know what magics caused you to animate...and yet retain your mind...But why are you on fire? Can...You actually feel the pain?"

Who would do such a thing to another? Necromancy was one thing, but keeping them in a state of torment was a different level all together.

The soldier looked at the moving backs of the Lizardman on a camel and Flaming person murmuring "Well fuck you too, buddy."

He turned to Lt. Pierce, heartened that someone was at least going along with him. He wasn't required to take orders from him (the only orders that would be legally binding were those from Kukure officers, or possibly one given by a Cosmic Militia superior during a time where the cooperation act was in effect, but as SOS he had a pretty wide latitude in ignoring both).

"Aye Lieutenant, I've heard of a New Hong Kong, but I'm afraid that it might not be all that useful. Let me explain."

He broadly gestured, "consider everywhere we could walk from here, I'd bet a few bucks that this is a single-environment plane. Now, imagine that this all is just a piece of paper. There are a very large number of planes, possibly infinite. Each one its own piece of paper. Now, generally, these planes don't interact, but sometimes these papers intersect enough for someone to accidentally or deliberately bust through in the next sheet. That's the way that the Omniverse works, roughly. Of course, planes actually intersect in more dimensions that us humans can think in, and follow all sorts of weird rules, but you know, that's gist of it."

"So, your New Hong Kong is on a sheet of paper, out of a bunch. There's this tendency called planar echoing, though. Basically, a lot of planes have stuff in common, for no known reason. What we're speaking right now, I call it English, but the thing is, is that in a majority of planes, it'll be recognized as a language, despite the fact that, as far as we known, there's previous point for English to have started. In fact, we've found that it's developed independently several times. City names tend to get repeated a lot as well. There's a New Hong Kong in the Kukure Federation, it's a district capital, in fact. However, judging from how you look, you're not from there. New Hong Kong could on at least four planes that I know off the top of my head, and I'm no expert."

"However, if we can get back to the Fed, they'll figure out what plane you're from, sure as sure. We've got people lots smarter than me and computers much smarter than them."

Whirl wasn't being completely truthful, but he figured that stretch the truth a bit wouldn't hurt. Hong Kong was a horridly common name for places both in the Anglo-alt and Weld-alt developmental categories ((cultures that we'd recognize as China-centric or England-centric)). Of course, the planar research development would certainly do their best, but it wasn't anywhere near sure as sure.

"Still none of that matters unless we get out of here. We've got two options, survive until pararescue finds us, or get a signal off to the Federation. With all the shit that they've been able to do thus far, it's quite possible that we've left a tangled trail through the planes, so it's best that we get a message out. This shouldn't be tough. If need be, any major planar disturbance will get noticed and checked on if possible. And once they find me here, there'd be friendlies quickly enough."

"If I had to guess, this is a single-environmental world we're on here, it'd appeal to the bastard of a god who took us here. We could either bide our time until we get somewhere better, or start fucking with their plans in an attempt to get taken elsewhere."

"I know that that's a heckuva infodump, did you get it all? Also, how're you set for ammunition?"
