Dead Cyborg, donation-supported hard sci-fi game
« on: September 02, 2011, 10:49:11 am »

The link: http://deadcyborg.com/index.html

Quote
You are a human being who has waken up in a cryotank... you have no memories, but you find some messages from the past... from yourself...
You don't feel good... maybe this is a radioactive and toxic place ... you may not have much time... You find some stupid robots... with strange answers to your questions.

I just heard about this, can't wait to try it when I get home from work. But it looks pretty interesting, and I like the "pay if you like" mentality.

It is more "pay if you want more to be done" rather than "pay if you like". Which is cool, because you really fell that you making something possible when you give money.

First person adventure game, similar to the point and click genre.
It's pretty story driven, you mostly wander around trying to figure out what in the hell's going on.
Quite fun so far.
Pretty slow paced though, in case that's not your thing.

Same reason I didn't probably :P

Be sure to read all the serial code things on the walls and all monitors as well, they have story info.

I was quoting the phrase on their site, actually. I agree, this is an awesome time for game design I think. Also, and i'm sure others are the same, but I tend to be a really heavy tipper on games like this (DF too), because it really feels, as you say, like I'm helping make something possible. :)

Sounds a bit like the plot of Overblood, I think.

Could be good...

EDIT: Judging from videos, gameplay reminds me of an old videogame called Normality.
