I found it easier just to mod in some Super Dwarves: Slade skin; no fat, bleeding, breathing, eating, drinking, sleeping, fear, thought, or organs; adamantine bones; homogeneous body types/skin/hair/eye colors, and to drop a dust cloud upon death to simulate an explosion.
Easy way? Your name is certainly apt.

Indeed.  Anyone can create modded supersoldiers.  actually TRAINING them?  now that's a challenge.

None danger room dwarves will train fastest in squads of 3 with 2 trainning at all times all with the same weapon.

though since your wanting them to never, ever have freinds, groupes of 3 should still work so long as the rooms they use have high quality statues and furniture.

start with 3 dorfs, get them up in skill, then split and repeate untill you have all your millatery highly trainned in just a few years.

then: make a mob squad, useless dwarves infront of the valuble ones. why not just kill them?
simple:
Bow goblins/crossbow goblins/sissy elven archer/etc etc.

you send in the mob squad as a meat sheild, this stops your trainee soldiers being turned into a dwarf meat statue with an arrow in his eye.
It also desensatises him to everything else when one of the mob squad does magicaly turn into one of these statues.

Also a means of selecting new recruits into the super soldiers, survive mob squad intact.

 as for the removal of fat: a way of doing this is to set fire to a grass patch a soldier is stood in -ie dump a single tile of magma on a bit of grass at the edge of a clearing and watch the resulting fire spread, then tell the bugger to move, fast.
if he survives the massive resulting blood loss and heals then gains blood back to remove the Pale status, that body part -since more than 1 or 2 = death via bleeding all over the place-  is then now fire proof. If you manage to get fully removed fat then i wager it may be possible to use a grass coverd field and a dwarven induced wild fire to make a hell on earth battle feild to greet your besigers. also to destroy all that useless clutter that comes along with the goblinite in the same way ^^

You place too much priority on survival.

I believe in evolution. Survival of the fittest. And I say, that all dwarves who want to join the Dwarf Marines must be put through every flavor of hell that we can devise. We will have an overwhelming success if 30 dwarves join the project and three come out as Dwarf Marines.

But those are losses the Dwarf Marines are going to need to be prepared to take. Because if I create a chamber of death, a series of trials to test the likes of Cacame, Morul, or Doren Syrupsprinkle, and throw dwarves into it, at least some will come out alive. And those few will be worthy Dwarf Marines.

never used a mob squad against a seige before?

oh dear. i fear the survival aspect is being over rated here.

if your lucky, 1 in 5 will survive the melted fat part at least.

Throw all immigrants into a big chamber with grates as floor.
Step one: Dump magma on them.
Step two: Dump water on them.
Step three: Allow for a single doctor to practice with them. Those who die while waiting are obviously not worthy.
Step four: Drop in the Gobbos.
Step five: Now that the surviving dwarves have killed the Goblins, allow them to use the weapons they dropped.
Step six: Capture as many FBs/ Demons(Cave Spider Webs, everyone!)/Colossi as possible.
Step seven: Drop them in.
Step eight: Give them leather/bone armor.
Step nine: send them into Candy-Spear infested Danger Chambers.
Step ten: Allow the few survivors to exit..By swimming to freedom.

No, we take them at infancy, using Girlinhat's 'Dwarven Childcare'. On reaching adulthood, they will be released from their doggy daycare. They will then be subjected to the magma rain. Those who survive will continue onto an armory of copper weapons and armor. They will then be sent to a room containing whatever monsters I have available. Those who survive will be sent into a danger room of sharp death (no wood spears). Those who survive this will carry on to the adamantine weapons stockpile. Once more, they must face death amongst a mighty maze of monsters and magma. Any who survive will continue to the holding pen for my troops.

Then, they will be my Dwarf Marines.

AND THEY SHALL KNOW NO FEAR.

The best way I have to mentally harden dwarves needs two things

a training room that can fit ten dwarves with shoddy armor and weapons , {set them to train constantly}

And a arena

Let the dwarves train and let them make social bonds with each other, they should all have friend with each other. take five of those ten dwarves and send them with no weapons into the arena to die by goblins. DO not bury them, let them rot and rise from the grave. They should follow the other five since they where friends, and after about three seasons they should have " Does not care about anything anymore." but they will also be a nervous wreck so it is a mixed bag but it is very cost affective.

I did this for one of my forts and after a massive siege all but twenty of one hundred survived {Half due to goblins and other to tantrum} and all those twenty where part of the military  or retired due to limb loss and all went through that training.

It is also VERY useful to get rid of all those millers and cheese makers.

Eh, we can skip that bit if it's needed. Maybe we'll just have the kids watch the monsters eating the immigrants instead. Give them some time to plan.

I have a few subjects contained in one of my Fortresses that are most certainly alive, just not effective. Athens-class Pods are not narly strong enough. And the new ones are small enough, EASILY small enough, with a small two months being enough training time, but seem a tad bit deadly, as the child is now almost completely in the browns, with one yellow and one red.

Eh, I can see the elvish nature of modding. I guess. In that case, why not just stick some dwarves in a room with wild badgers?
