Once again, Turn acidguards into offensive military, praetorians shall be the guards of the nest.  Use ant pheromones to lure ants near the nest, after you've finished building your military, that way you can wipe them out. 

Also, a not game related request, shadenight, can you add a clear list of castes ( with names and basic information ) in the OP?

Also, I say upgrade the flowers. Make them bigger, more spikes, make them able to seed. We must strangle the world with greenery!

Improve stomach and roots

you stretch and collapse and stretch. until...you gurgle! you strengthened your acid, which means better dissociation. Which means more energy...which also mean more severe stomach aches were you not to satisfy the food burnings per day.

your roots stretch further down, further far and wide. Now this is good, yes, that soil hit the spot. Nice.

-9 tendrils -4 energy =Improved Stomach, (rudimentary) --> (Mediocre)
-12 tendrils -4 energy=Improved roots (rudimentary) -->(mediocre)

you throw seed which rapidly grow on the soil at an exponential rate. They are reddish in colour (threw a dice with a colour table in front, you got red. higher roll more and it would have been pink)...and they start expanding. but you don't look at them right now. no, you have better things to do.

-1 tendril=Hive-grass (it's more of a power then a spawn, it's an energy boosting thing so it get considered a power, and it's boost the existing plantspawn. energy collection)

you then do the same with the roots. shooting off another one

-1 tendril= Hive-roots, they increase food generated by roots by a 3X

this one seeps into the ground and after a short while starts expanding.

Finally, you atrophize 100 filaments for mental...you quiver as your size is reduced greatly, BUT
now, you're smart.
Heck, you're smarter. you start to feel a strange force, all around you, and as your antenna's and eyes adjust to searching for it, you find it...it's a sort of channel, hey, it's more than one. they're everywhere...now you can...

and in the meantime, you send your vanguards/acid guard to search for new species...TO BRING YOU BACK. you want a new taste.
you send a Slave with them, they'll need him to transport things if they're big.

the remaining slave, you look at it from top to down, since it's, after all, a 1cm moving thing and you're flying except for the roots which keep you in a sort of balloon like state.

Absorb one of the giant slaves and use him to raise your mental stats. Produce another slave (The acid spitting kind) and get him to get bigger. (Height, length, and height.)

one of your hiveminds philaments had the thought of eating him, but he's too cute, and nice, and fluffy. You can't bring yourself to eat him.
What you do however, is rearrange him.
He comes willingly and get's rearranged.

from 100cm width and 1 cm height he become 2 and 50, 4 and 25, 5 and 20. 10 and 10.
he his now 10 cm tall and 10 cm width. you then arrange him to be acid-spitting. arranging his filaments to specialize.

and he's done.
he is slightly smaller in height, since you had to specialize 4 filaments to make him acid-spitting, but still, he'll do fine. you send him off to go hunt, telling him to eat and grow bigger and taller, and wider.

Send scout to look for ant colonies. Get scouts to leave a pheromone trail from the colonies to your home. Set up an ambush for the ants.

Fertilize more eggs into acid guards


there are no more ants around here. nor insects. and soon, this wonderful place will become reddish in aspect, and marvelously yours.
you lay more eggs inside of you (13)
2+11
-4 energy -2 filaments
and fertilize one in acid guards.
-13 food -7 tendrils

you start to tinker with the plantspawns along your roots. consuming a couple more of filaments
-6 filaments=advanced plant-spawn
and you manage it!
now every three day, new plant-spawn will come through. You make click-clacks happily.

in the end, your roots and spawns earn you...
30(from roots)+4 food (plantspawn) + 6 energy (plantspawn)
for a total of:
77 food and 6 energy

and you consume:
48+155=203 food
...
luckily
you're fools bring you back 45 food and 45 filaments

the workers with the overseer come back with...100 food and 3 filaments they found a mouse, and brought it back after a fearsome struggle. luckily they had numbers and suffered no casualty.
The overseer...considers the name and accepts it.
meh, fine. call me that.

you end up with 19 food.

...but food here is getting scarce...

and your group of hunters hasn't reported back yet...

send some acid guards to look around for the hunting party.

Next action (if this is voted out, ignore this), set up an ambush on the road. Make a hivespawn play dead on the road and wait for someone to stop and look at the creature. When he/she comes out to investigate, get acid guards hiding in tunnels or in the grass to attack the humans.

Send your acidguards to hunt, preferabbly juicy stuff, like the mouse.  Cut down on energy, you need to conserve as much food as possible.  Or something.  Send some acidguards ( how many do you have, again? ) to send after the hunting party ( forgot what caste they were exactly ).

Use some energy/filaments to think of then create an organ that produces a liquid that helps in healing up injured spawn. Allow the liquid to be excreted via various holes through out the body.

DIG DEEPER DAMMIT.
get deep enough that if D is our diameter and P the distance between our highest filament, P=3xD. That should do the trick.
make most of our hivespawn looking more or less like this:

because seriously? 1meter width for 1cm height? ITS A FUCKIN' PANCAKE!

except the "undercover", of course.

Increase size of hivespawns, like 3 or 4 times bigger. Increase chasing range.

Grow 10 roots.

Generate 5 energy then use it to think about fusing spiked tendrils and roots, so roots can be used as a weapon as well as a feeder. (starcraft 1 sunken colony anyone?)

Anybody else think we need to upgrade the creep? Having armored walls is cool and all, but surely we can do better than that.

First, let's make the creep "live", give it life, and a small bit of mental, just enough to react to things walking on it and near it. Make it able to photosynthesize, like the flowers. Next, give it spikes and the ability to move things along using those spikes. Anything that walks onto it should either be moved towards us for food, or moved where it needs to go if it's a spawn. Also, the creep should expand on its own.

Also, make creep do this heal-y thing:

How about we figure out a way to become partially Parasitoid? Think about it, what if we infect an ant, it finds it's way into the ant's colony, and it erupts? We could make more places under our control in this way. We would have to create a new type of Hivemind that is basically like us, but answers to us.

Way too complicated, and it won't gain us much.  Not to mention create an entirely new strain of hivemind which could rebel against us.

That's a good idea, except for the new Hivemind part. Kinda reminds me of those fungus things that infect ants. We should have the infected creature leave a pheromone trail or a tiny trail of creep. When it erupts and starts converting the things around it, we should grow into that area.
