We must make a creature that's small, expendable, and can't be taken alive or dead. So, let's make something about the size of the ant, that will begin to pour acid of of it's skin in an attempt to destroy itself when it dies. Then send them to scout.

We are currently near on the surface and not protected well, the highest priority would be to dig tunnels.
The lost Hivespawn can be ignored, they're expendable.

The Hivespawn1 will dig tunnels
The Hivespawn4 will direct them
The Hivespawn5 will spread creep and armour* on the tunnel surfaces
The Hivespawn3 will protect them

The Hivemind itself will just keep laying/fertilising eggs to make the work go faster (of course lay no more eggs than mental command limit)

Also, upgrade egg sac so its possible to store and fertilise eggs inside the body instead of leaving them vulnerable

(effectively, being able to choose between laying eggs and live birth)


* would it be possible to change the creep so that it functions as armour as well as creep?

you order the two hivespawn3 to go search him together with the hivespawn1. You soon receive a message from them, and they come back with the munched upon rests of the hivespawn1 which went missing...only pieces of them. you would cry had you tears to throw. Who did this will pay, dearly. the hivespawn3 have seen the possible perpetrators, or their vibrations. they were bigger than the ants, but not much. you do not know, but most probably a praying mantis took it upon herself to feed with the unlucky hivespawn1.

you realize you need to explore this place, before this places enemies come upon you.
and they must not take any more prisoners. your childrens must survive or kill as many as possible before dieing.

hivespawn6 "Kamikaze scout"= (cost to create) -1 filaments -4 food

you feel unsafe out here, and start digging down vertically until earth covers you up once more. your single hivespawn starts digging it's way around, and after hivespawn4 returns from the food hunt, with grass food.
meh, you do realize we can't fight those pesky little vibrations without enough strength do you!?
+12 food +12 filaments (since it's not a full day worth search)
the tunnels are dug and you feel certainly safer, they are quite wide, but not much tall, after all, you are the biggest one around here, and you are the one they serve. so you must be able to move around easily. creep and armour is spread all around, and in the end you have a "cozy" lair...

you do however turn the four remaining eggs into scouts.
-4 filaments -16 food
as they come out, their flesh pulsing green from the acid crackling through their cells, you feel...

Extending the tunnel network will help prevent more hivespawn dying from various causes

I think we should rename hivespawn1 "Worker" and hivespawn3 "Soldier"
