Scale would be nice. It looks like we've got maybe one significant settlement, or maybe that's our camp. We really don't have much force, and having fifteen conscripts well-armed isn't worth much compared to having fifteen well-trained soldiers with wooden sticks.

Furthermore, we can't actually MANAGE Magitek. We might be able to have a first load of it, but after that where's our production? If magic is rare, we obviously need to wrest it from somebody, but if we only have the bit of equipment, and it wears out eventually, it's just a cycle of trying to replenish our equipment. For now, we should go with trained soldiers, and once we have production facilities, we can think about actually speccing to Magitek.

In Man of Ambition, our hero (if a hero is indeed what he chooses to be) has just completed his first conquest, defeating a force of 50 with his mere 15 followers.

Our world:

A post-apocalyptic nuclear desert, where a few giant corporations who've hoarded superior technology hold sway over the remains of civilization while struggling for dominance. Magic is rare, but powerful.

The world, nicknamed "The Most Apocalyptic Wasteland" for its combination of thorough destruction, the light remnants of radiation, and genericness, is not friendly place. It's a combination of tech-rich megacorporations in the cities and small farming villages anywhere else that a Geiger counter doesn't predict death. Our initial city is known to its residents as "The Shell," and is situated in the remnants of an enormous former government building. Or maybe a corporate headquarters. The important thing is, it's a dome miles in diameter, with so much space that even its population of 500 couldn't fill most of the space. It has no immediate neighbors, so anything it can't get through trade has to be done itself. It also has pumps bringing up clean water from below the ground. It's not exactly paradise, but in a world like this it's a good compromise between the impoverished state of most towns and the polluted, megacorp-dominated hellholes of the major cities.

Bored with lack of movement. Tallying up current votes, we have (removing low-support options)...

Style:
Superior Soldiers: 4
Magitech: 6
Technology: 2

Discipline (Counting Primary as 3 votes, Secondary as 2 vote):
Mobility: 17
Superior Training: 8
Superior Ranged Armament: 7
Battlefield Improvisation: 2
Shock and Awe: 5

Any outstanding objections to Style: Magitech, Primary Doctrine: Mobility, and Secondary Doctinre: Superior Training or Superior Ranged Armament?

Mobility should be one-way, if our troops fail to take and hold the objective, then we don't want them back!

We don't have the manpower to have a careless disposition towards our troops. We need every soldier alive at this point.

Yeah, er, your starting army is 15 elites (though as soon as the game proper starts you'll have a chance to look into getting new recruits from the place you just took over).

With a force that small, Mobility and Superior Ranged Armament seem like the most logical choice. Hit and run tactics, not letting the enemy close in while you shower him with artillery spells... er, sorry, shells. :)

All right, then, I'mma go alter the first post to reflect your now-determined commitment to Magitech X P:Mobility S:SuperiorRangedArmament.

Feel free to argue names or whatever while I do some PIXEL ARTS and write up your first official post.

The town that called itself "The Shell" was inside a dome, the abandoned miles-wide headquarters of some pre-apocalypse government or corporation. They were self-sufficient, underpopulated relative to the radiationproofed, farming-capable space they had, and their "army" was 50 men, mostly militia types but with a mix of slightly more skilled men. Their leader was not renowned for much of anything - he was neither cruel nor kind, weak nor strong, ambitious nor timid. Many citizens of The Shell could probably not even tell you his name. You knew this from the few times you'd been through the city. You were a recognized, reasonably-respected face.

It was with some surprise to them that you approached the government offices in this badass motherfucker:

It didn't hurt that you came with 15 of these Magitech Elites at your back - 15 handpicked men, picked up in your travels, trained in the secrets you unlocked: the way to harness the old world Magitech before the apocalypse.

Utilizing the tank's Superior Ranged Armament, you drove straight into the government building and demanded surrender. While you and ten of your Magitech Elites rolled along in a battle line, five of your men infiltrated the government building with short-rage teleportation devices, neutralized the leader's personal bodyguards, and extracted him. In the time it took those five to bring him back to your battle lines, five of The Shell's militia had defected and ten had surrender, leaving you as ten and an indoor tank against thirty-five. When the infiltrators brought you the administrator of the place, the remainder surrendered; there was no point in defending an empty building.

Your first and best Magitech Elite, the head of the extraction team, drags the administrator and unceremoniously dumps him on the ground in front of you.

"What shall we do with him, Commander?"

I mean... could the teleportation unit be used selectively on brain parts, or does the tank has a telepatic interface that could be rigged as a makeshift mind reading device or somehting?

According to everything we know he's just a guy who got the position by chance, not skill. If he pledges allegance, release him, if he dosen't, dump him into the wastelands. With some basic survival gear if we can afford handing it out.
