Evolution: Origins

For centuries, you have drifted in the primordial ooze that you call home. Now, this was not really you. You don't have a will yet. Heck, there isn't even a you yet. In an almost inexplicable series of events, a flash-freeze in an incredibly small pocket of water in an even smaller chunk of ice brought together some chemicals. This isn't out of the ordinary, as this happened all the time. This time, however, an infinitesimal droplet of oil enveloped these chemicals. As the piece of ice thawed, the chemicals continued to be mixed and twisted and- well, to make a long story short, this blob of debris gained a spark of life. A spark of intelligence that separates it from all the other debris around it. This achievement is but the first of many just like it however, and you will not be alone for long.

You feel weightless. There is a slight resistance as the cell wriggles. A little pressure from the cell's cytoskeleton is able to squeeze you in a certain direction.

Search for things to consume.
And can we have some pictures?

I can make some pictures (With Spore...), but not before we reach a decent multicellular state.
I +1 the search something to eat.
We need energy before divide. at least double our supplies (cuz they will be equally divided between new cells)
Note that the more we eat, the bigger we are. Useful cuz our size is also divided by 2 when mitosis.
ACTIVATE MEIOSIS, NOW!
*aaaaaaacckkk...* meiosis do not replicate DNA before divide, and thus result in a net gene loss. Half of them to be precise. This is only useful for sexual reproduction.
Asexual reproductio <=> MITOSIS.

and for now I suggest for us a name: Vitascinti, approximatively "lifespark"

I suggest Basus Vitus for the scientific name. Basus because we're the basal (meaning root) form of everything else (that we're likely to be naming), Vitus for the obvious that we're life.

Turn 1

Search for things to consume.
After experimentally sending out some pseudopods, the cell begins to move slowly in a general direction. Although it currently has nearly no senses, it eventually feels some smaller bits of matter and envelops it. You now have four more Amino Acids, but you used up two Energy looking for them.

And can we have some pictures?
((You don't have any sort of senses besides touch yet, and even that is touch-and-go. ;D Later on, though, you will have them. I think I might just post what you look like, but not actually what you see for now.))

use two amino acids to make some perceptive proteins attached outside the membrane, so we can perceive chemicals around us.

I only have a basic understanding about this, so I'm just going to use quotes like this.
