And no one gets prosecuted for that sort of thing unless it's in a place where people, especially minors, are actually likely to come across them. We don't even know if he was on duty at the time - and I know plenty of girls who'd love a police officer willing to wear his uniform for them and do something like this. If we had more police officers like this, maybe we'd get less beat in heads and "accidental" shootings and a lot more fulfilled dreams, eh?

Well, yeah, public indecency is possible. I'm not so sure he was necessarily off duty, though we don't know, which is the entire point really: "The internal affairs investigation is complete, now we are awaiting a final decision on any disciplinary action that could be taken." He could still get fired for this, among other things.

Also, I again say I'm not so sure this was "in the middle of nowhere," as the sheriff claims, because there was a security camera. It doesn't seem to add up to me that "the middle of nowhere," just so happens to have a security camera right where the act occurred. Though the possibility occurred to me that it could be a border security camera or something like that, Santa Fe isn't near the border. Though this, of course, assumes the act took place in Santa Fe, the location doesn't appear to be disclosed and we can't know, presently.

A surveillance camera set up to catch vandals on Santa Fe County property catches a New Mexico State Police officer having sex with a woman on county property.

The Santa Fe County Sheriff confirms he turned over pictures of a uniformed officer engaged in sex acts to state police.

The officer's identity has not been released.

He says the pictures were taken at the Santa Fe Canyon Ranch. Sources say the officer now faces an internal investigation.

State police have not returned calls seeking comment. They have also not responded to a request for a copy of the video."

From what I can tell, It is sorta out of the way. Perhaps the reason there are security cameras there is because it appears developers are trying to build a subdivision there over 10 years We're talking somewhere in the Yellow bordered, green area or around there?

I don't really see any issue so long as he was not suppose to be doing cop duties or whatever when it happened, most likely he is only getting marginally in trouble cause he got caught on camera.

I really don't have a problem with this.  When I saw the title I thought that it was in a public place or non-consensual or something like that.  But honestly... meh.  Might have violated some minor public nudity law.  So what?  Nobody is harmed.  Good for them I guess.

Also, the fact that it's a state trooper is in no way surprising me.  State troopers are like cops, but without the sense of responsibility or attachment to a community.  I'd feel safer getting my law enforcement from the national guard then from state troopers.
