Why are my eagles starving to death when they should not need to eat?

As my eagles are now starving to death. (I modded raws to have them come with me on Embark) I guess i did something wrong?

Here is what i edited in the raws

I was told to make them a Pet and non-exotic if i wished to embark with them.

I also made them cost far less and to have 3 eggs in a clutch.

Giant eagles should not need to eat anything.  They don't graze and aren't intelligent.  What modding have you done to them?

Post the entire raws for BIRD_EAGLE_GIANT (i.e. not just the stuff you say you modified) and we'll be more likely to be able to help you.

Comparing to the original giant eagle raws, all that's been modified was changing [PETVALUE:700] to [PETVALUE:5], adding [COMMON_DOMESTIC], changing [PET_EXOTIC] to [PET], and changing [CHILD:1] to [CHILD:3], so it's not clear why they're requiring food.

No you didn't - you made them spend 3 years as "hatchlings" instead of 1 year. Clutch size is specified using the [CLUTCH_SIZE] token, which is already set to 1-3.

Oh my bad(just fixed it)... But hmm thats odd.

Ok so after fixing the age thing i genned a new world and re-embarked perhaps the child age caused the bug.

After fixing that little error i have determined that changing the age caused them to require food. Odd bug
