World War Z (Turn 3) (No longer taking players)
« on: August 30, 2011, 07:23:21 pm »

NO LONGER TAKING PLAYERS, FOR 23 GOOD REASONS

So, I thought making a game about World War Z (for those who did'nt read the book, Z is for Zombie) could be awesome. It would'nt be following the events of the books, but start like them, with the same kind of zombies. That way, you would'nt need to read the book.

It would be a simple strategy game, with a bit of RTD elements. Each of the players (without player limits, for fun, and if there's too many I'll just search for a few co-GMs) would pick a country and play it as the world faces a zombie apocalypse. The game would start a few months after Case Zero, when the infections are starting to pop up in many chinese villages. Every turn, you would tell me what is your country doing, and I would then tell you if it works like intended, if it's a failure etc... Of course, your actions would not be limited to the zombies. Want to invade your neighbors and start a nuclear war? Sure, go ahead. Every time I feel like a bit of randomn is needed, I'll roll a d6.

I'll use this monster of a map to show the infection level. (Warning: big image. Like, BIG image.)

No infection: white.
Level one outbreak (less than a hundred Zs): Green.

Sounds cool. In!

I'd be up for CO-Gm as well, if we get that many players.

Dibs on Germany.

Alright. That's already four players.

People can join at anytime, take any country. I'll go to sleep, and tomorrow morning I'll try to get the first turn up. At the beginning, I'll probably use a month by month turn system, and then switch to week by week when things start getting interesting. Don't expect a fast pace, school's started after all.

Meh, I've got spare time.

Turn 1
3 months after Case Zero

Spoiler: Current map (click to show/hide)

Infections are spreading in China, forcing the chinese governement to quarantine more and more villages. For now, the secret is well kept and nobody outside of China knows the truth; however, rumors of a new form of rabies are spreading in the surrounding countries... And the military movements in China have been seen by many countries, leading governments to fear an attack on Taïwan. Some villagers from the infected villages are trying to flee the country, and a few among them might be infected.

What do you do?

Suggestions? (I know there's not much to do in the beginning, sorry).

Choose Greece.

>Increase Military Funding in the case China attacks Tawian. Investigate Panic.

I would like to point out Tawian has Advanced Weaponry and is quite capable of protecting itself againist China at this point.

I'll take Sweden.

Increase funding to disease research.  Put out Public Service Announcement on keeping oneself healthy when traveling abroad.

In as Australia.

Close off uranium sales to any foreign nation or international corporations. Start research into sentient AIs. Start programs "Janissery", "Autarch" and "Walker". Align self diplomatically closer to china (Mineral export contracts don't come easily y'know)
