Sorry to have to blatantly call you on this one, Vector, but if the worst of ATL is him saying a curse word, he is far and away handling himself better than the guy who laid out his mom and told her he was going to kill her. I know you get offended over derogatory terms, but it is much more offensive to try to make somebody believe they are on the same level as a violent criminal because they used a crude term in their anger. It's a card which reeks of personal moral agenda and not an actual lesson.

All right.

I'm talking about it because I often think about it--that's all.  "Why am I using this reasoning?"  It has not much to do with the fact that I really hate the word cunt as the fact that it seems so... weird to see two people say such things in juxtaposition.

So, I think the way I phrased it was weird, but I meant "Wow, that's an interesting coincidence."

Though i feel I should point out taking it out on someone who LOVES you is a million times worse than taking it out on someone who doesn't. Not condoning anything.

Go out exercising. Listen to happy music. That works wonders. I remember when I was depressed and bullied, and one day I just switched my iPod onto some cheerful music (be it electronic, whatever floats your boat, as long as it isn't genres that make you angry), and rode my bike for hours around my local neighbourhood. My parents knew i was doing it, and said it was good that i was exercising (I wasn't overweight. I just needed to get the goodness flowing). I came back feeling a lot better and that was the start of my recovery.

If you're that violent, it *might* be a good idea to check yourself into anger management or even a psych hospital. I considered psych hospital for myself but I didn't because I had begun to recover unaided.

Compare that quote with the OPs reasoning for the point she's getting at, though if that is "the worst in him" then obviously the problem doesn't exist to the same degree by any measure. The point I think Vector was making, and which I definitely am making with this post, is that it's the same conceptual justification - "I'm normally pretty reasonable, but this just set me off and I couldn't control it".

I don't see the relevance. One person loses control and says a rude word because he mometarily does not care what people think of the word. The other person loses control and physically injures a person because he momentarily does not care about his mother's well being.

The term apples and oranges doesn't actually mean anything, in my opinion, so I won't use it myself. Instead, I will say that the point being made only seems to condemn Audioworm further.
