Do you use the standard set or do you modify it :O?
Give some reason behind your choice, I'm curious to why people use certain sets .

I like the ASCII because I got used to it fairly quickly.
And there is also the slight smugness of playing it in ASCII without needing to get a tile set.

ASCII is  best. It's what I started with and I think that most graphic sets are ugly next to it.

I like the ASCII too because then my text isn't messed up and I get proper symbols for male and female and other things.

I've seen a couple of similar threads, and ppl were pretty much separated in half: ASCII and gfx.
I think it's kind of interesting

Anyway! I'm using ASCII because I started playing with ASCII. For some reason the gfx tiles look confusing to me. It's hard to explain... I probably just got used to ASCII!

Most of the time I use Pheobus, there's almost no symbols inserted in the text except for punctuation and it looks nice.

But I like to use square ascii too.

Standard ASCII.  Like everyone else, I got used to it.  Plus, a lot of tilesets are hard to figure out without squinting at the minor differences and don't always adapt well to having new items share old symbols.

I use Mayday for familiarity. That aside, a square ASCII set would also work. Makes measurements easier to work with.

ASCII, but completely redrawn to 12x12 by me... I can't stand it when squares look like rectangles and circles like ellipses, but the standard 16x16 set is too big for my taste. I also added some more shades of grey that make the whole thing softer and easier on the eyes than the standard ASCII and use different, less saturated colors.
I tried graphics sets (mostly Mayday's) in the beginning, because I thought it was easier to understand, but found them annoying and slow to read after a few weeks.

I used Phoebus for around one IRL hour, then switched back to ASCII. Part smugness, part familiarity and part that it really leaves a lot more for you to imagine, which is a wonderful part of DF. Also, I like my text clear, I find the Phoebus characters to be a bit funky.

Standard graphics for me. Look good, easy to use.

I've learned some of Mayday, because it's pretty common, but I don't actually use any graphics sets.

By the way, the word is "graphics" not "grafics". "Grafix" would be acceptable at certain times, but not "grafics".

I usually play with ASCII, of which smugness is definitely a factor. 

Otherwise I'll sometimes use a frankenset of my own creation, sewn together from the butchered remains of dead tilesets.

ASCII, since that's what I started playing DF in and since I'm used to it, it's much clearer to me what the letters are than with a tileset.
