Can you bury a specific animal in a tomb?
« on: August 30, 2011, 08:37:35 am »

I've been trying to capture forgotten beasts and other mighty creatures using chained chickens and wooden doors to lure them in, then sealing them in with a bridge. My first success was a humanoid FB made of steam with mandibles. I locked him in, and watch as he was killed by my restrained stray hen. Now my hen has a title, and I want to make her a tomb. Is there a way to designate a tomb for pets / strays?

I didn't personally mod it, but someone who duplicated raws managed to embark as living trees that ate wagon meat.

That led me to the conclusion that duplicating raws is like feeding your computer LSD.

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

If the animal is a pet, you could place coffins for all the pets who have yet died and then remove all of them accept for the one.

I'm not sure if this would work, but when the hen dies you can assign all dwarves that are tasked with burial to a burrow that only includes the hen's corpse and the tomb you wish the hen to be in, with a path leading from one another so they can bury her.

Can you not designate a coffin as pets only then assign it?

If all else fails I'm pretty sure you can carve a memorial slab to a pet
