World generating and symbols recognition
« on: August 29, 2011, 01:56:41 am »

Well its been annoying me for some time now.... How do I know whats what when I look at the world map?? I think I got some of it...
Like what a volcano looks like also if the area is purple its sinister or haunted, if its blue its serene
But there are so many symbols/sign I dont know what mean.... :(
Im interested in one particular, lava/magma.... If its red my experience is its red sand... If there is some magma on the surface how will I recognize it?

By the way im using Ironhands tileset

Lava is a volcano. That's all I can help you with, since I don't go for any of that tileset eyecandy.

Yeah, the only magma on the surface is volcanoes, ^

EDIT: Or rather, a red bear-trap looking thing.

^ if red is a Volcano. If a Dark Grey, and somewhat Thicker it's a peak.
Anything that has the symbol of a tree in-game and is green is a vanilla forest.
Blue lines are rivers. Blue dots are lakes. Blue squigglies are oceans.
The various ns on the map are hills, doesn't matter the color. Although I guess that affects vegetation and such. I don't really care that much, come to think of it.
The whole huge things of cyan at the bottom are pretty much ice-oceans and tundra.
I'm missing something.

Thanks for the info, I got most of that myself except the hills "n"
There a lot of other symbols...like chests and cabinets and a lot of other stuff.

Guess what im searching for is some sort of map legend or anything like that...

Then you know most of the large-screen. Rarely do I see any symbols other then those.
