Help me get my dwarves hammered.

Hammered as in drunk, not as in failing to make slade cufflinks.

But then they are hammered in both definitions so often!

Anyway. The point of this thread is...

I want to make a new type of booze for my dorfs to enjoy. Specifically absinthe.

How would I go about the raws, as far as making the plant wormwood, from which it is brewed?
and making the resulting drink?

I tried fooling around with the raws once, hoping to make a super-race with golden skin and molten-gold blood. It resulted in crashing.

Well.... in terms of adding more drunken effects, the next level on top of their current state would be full motor paralysis. Just make your drink with a syndrome that causes that.

But wait - that wasn't your question. I'd suggest turning to google 'dwarf fortress modding tutorial' and see if there are any sections in drink editing.

As there are no ingestion syndromes until the next release, I don't think this can work.
You might be able to make something produce a gas with similar effects.

Yes, this.  Make it a booze-like apparatus created from a still and contained in a barrel.  Upon consumption the gas is activated and the Dwarf gets boozed, then the syndrome.

But all that did was add a new plant/booze to the game. It won't get them hammered like the OP wants. That's not going to be possible until next release and you can be sure the modders will have the booze give a proper kick as soon as the release is out. Welcome to the long wait for the next release.

Actually I just wanted to make a new alcohol and related plant, but I like where this thread has gone.

I shall now try to make it have a syndrome effect on the lucky dorf that drinks it.
and probably fail.
Maybe I could give it a low boiling point and store it in barrels of that wood that is naturally at 0 degrees kelvin?

Maybe you could just copy the dizzyness syndrome from cave spiders?

They're nearly as bad as badgers. Build a couple of anti-buzzard SAM sites marksdwarf towers and your fortress will look like Baghdad in 2003 from all the aerial bolt spam. You waste a lot of ammo and everything is covered in unslightly exploded buzzard bits and broken bolts.
