Being tipsy off drinks is never an excuse of poor behavior but too many people tend to think it is. You are always in control of your own actions and words. I almost think it is placebo-like the way people use alcohol as an excuse to act like a douche bag. It isn't pathetic for people to drink and doesn't make them any less of a decent person.
Yeah, this about sums up my thoughts on the subject. People, especially young, use "I was drunk" as an excuse to be an ass. I, however, have always been enlightened enough to know that I don't
need an excuse. Sure, alcohol hits different people in different ways, but I have many a time handled myself respectably while literally one drink from passing out, so naturally I find alcohol to be a poor justification for that kind of thing. If you want to do or say something, man up and do it, don't get drunk and blame the alcohol when you decide you regret it.
On the other hand, if you don't have any inclination towards drinking, power to you. You're probably better off not, all things considered. I always had a few friends who were pretty straight edge, and no one ever held it against them. It's always nice to have a sober person who's got your back. Just don't hold it against the drunk people that they're getting drunk.
So...perhaps the people who get drunk around you, Neon, are just annoying drunks? As someone who also detests that certain type of drinker, I'd say it's a possibility.
Also, I am half drunk already. Do you hate me Neon? D:
