* That'd make for a total of 64 leaf nodes.

> ADAPT(target=[graphics card**, concept of specialization, ADAPT.exe], iPoint=hardware, iLevel=merge]
> ADAPT(target=[graphics card**, concept of specialization, whatever algorithm is the bottleneck of our conciousness/general intelligence], iPoint=hardware, iLevel=merge]

**graphics card used because it's by far the most powerfull specialized proccessor, and also the higher level circuitry might be similar with many small specialized cores etc.

>ADAPT(target=[grasper, motor routine for climbing], iPoint=propulsion, iLevel=modify]

>ADAPT(target=[spy drone schematics, concept of detachability], iPoint=head, iLevel=modify

> make an inventory of software routines you've used since you woke up.

>ADAPT(target=sensors, iPoint=input custom(H-grasper leaf node #3), iLevel=modify)

No wonder our model was discontinued. We've been active for about an hour and we're about to look ridiculous.

>Look in one of the buildings
Not much to look at. Everything around here is ruined.

> ADAPT(target=[grasper, H tree 6 levels deep*], iPoint=arm, iLevel=replace)
Your arm splits. And splits, and splits. It stops at three iterations though, and each of the resulting graspers is way too small to do much with.

> ADAPT(target=[graphics card, concept of specialization, ADAPT.exe], iPoint=hardware, iLevel=merge]
The change is rejected, with another complaint of "insufficient data".

> ADAPT(target=[graphics card, concept of specialization, whatever algorithm is the bottleneck of our conciousness/general intelligence], iPoint=hardware, iLevel=merge]
The program rejected the more philosophical argument, but it runs anyway. You can't quite tell what happened, but you seem to be thinking a good deal faster now.

>ADAPT(target=[grasper, motor routine for climbing], iPoint=propulsion, iLevel=modify]

>ADAPT(target=[spy drone schematics, concept of detachability], iPoint=head, iLevel=modify
The program still doesn't much like the conceptual arguments, but it does get you the intended result... well, close. Your head and all the sensor arrays stored there is now capable of separating from your body. Unfortunately this leaves your body at a large disadvantage with most of it's senors gone...

> List all the different kinds of sensors you have access to, both your original ones and the ones on the spy drone.
> make an inventory of software routines you've used since you woke up.
Lets see what all is in here... Some basic light sensors, a motion detector, a heat sensor... oh, and a GPS. That could be useful.

>ADAPT(target=sensors, iPoint=input custom(H-grasper leaf node #3), iLevel=modify)
One of your tiny arms develops a tiny light sensor. Seems the program has limits to how much mass it can actually give you...

Ok.

>ADAPT(target=[task manager, the fast thinking card, Gödel numbering function for the programming language you're written in], iPoint=input custom(new software object), iLevel=merge)

>ADAPT(target=[verbose even logging routine, specifications for self documentation in general programs], iPoint=input custom(ADAPT.exe), iLevel=modify)

>Use our newly-discovered GPS to discover where we are.
Takes the devices several minutes to find the satellites and position itself, but before long it lists off your coordinates. Appears to be... somewhere in the middle of New York. Pretty far from any major cities though.

>Run sensible.exe to stop attempting to adapt EVERY DAMN THING :P
While you don't have anything like that, you do decide it might be best to think things through a bit more. (ie: To keep us from getting too insane, I'll only do any ">adapt" actions with at least two people asking for it.)

((Sorry, but you'll need to get some support for those first. People will get annoyed if anyone can make major changes at any time.))

>Roll on down the street, keeping an eye(sensor?) out for any movement.
>Look for any sign of habitation. Smoke, lights, movement...
You head down the street, keeping alert for anything out of the ordinary. It's pretty boring though... Rubble, rubble, more rubble, a fire, rubble... Wait, a fire? As you draw closer, it turns out to be a small firepit, obviously set up intentionally. And while it' still on the edge of your vision, you think you can see a man asleep next to it.
