Did the ring also explode? If not, pick up the ring, enter the church, ask for healing and curse removal - I will gladly convert now their god has sent me this sign.
Yeah, the ring was consumed by the holy fire. It's gone. You can still convert if you want for bonuses and crap, though.

Convert.

I don't really want to trade one curse for another.

Ask the elf and the knight what work they have for me
The elf requests that you take a package to his homeland should you ever venture there. He also requests that you not open it, but to merely drop it in a postbox in the elven capital. He says that he will be in this tavern every day for the next 30 years, so you can get your reward after he gets confirmation of the package being delivered.

The knight, on the other hand, seems to be having trouble. There are tales of a great beast that lurks within the night around the city that goes around eating children and various whatnot that evil creatures do. He, obviously, is too much of a chicken to deal with it, so he wants some random stranger to take care of it for him before the King catches word of his cowardice.

Quests Gained: Elf Package, Cowardly Knight
+ Odd-Looking Package
Convert.
You [4] convert, and the priest lifts the curse on the Ring of the Shaman. As a new convert, you simply must refrain from using weapons of an evil or chaotic nature or else be excommunicated and subject to smiting.
Title Gained: Page of the Generic Lawful Good God
James combined the quantum accelerator with one of his wrenches and spent some PP in hopes of creating an Omniwrench 8000 (or any subsequent version) complete with boomerang functionality.
[1+1+1] You combine the wrench and Quantum Accelerator to create a small series of throwing wrenches, each of which has a 1/6 chance to boomerang back toward you.
-Quantum Acclereator
-Wrench
-1 PP
+10 Proto-Throwing Boomerang Wrenches
Enter the church for healing and conversion. I have been sent a sign by the lord!
[6] You burst into chorus at the priest, singing randomly about how you have seen a sign from the True One and wish to convert and be healed. The priest is happy to oblige, and cauterizes your finger wound. You also willingly join the faith of the Generic Lawful Good God, and as such have gained the ability to channel a bit of holy power in exchange for a vow to refrain from the use of chaotic or evil weaponry, as well as a mild vow of sobriety.
Title Gained: Acolyte of the Generic Lawful Good God
Ability Gained: Holy Beam

Go find a small job that needs doing
You [3] stumble your way into the tavern that Scotty found earlier, and check the message board. It would seem that 2 of the quests have already been taken.
I may aswell... Convert to remove the curse.
[6] You convert, and the curse is removed not by the priest, but by a glowing hand from the sky. You have been touched as a convert of the Generic Lawful Good God, and have gained a couple of his divine properties as a result. However, you must still conform to the normal standards of a religious Page - that is, to not use equipment of a chaotic or evil nature, or face excommunication and penance.
Title Gained: Page of the Generic Lawful Good God
Ability Gained: Holy Wrath

Check for other quests, then find someone who may be willing to teach me to channel my powers more efficiently

hmm maybe I should join the church too, naaaah I see my self sort of a warrior-mage/psychic warrior than a paladin

You really can both sig it.
But... That would break the laws of sigging! We can't have everyone running around with the same quotes. IT MAKES THEM UNFUNNY FASTER!

Give my thanks, and request permission to continue with my journey!

Just curious, but why did La get a different rank than us?

Because I am mostly naked save for a holy loincloth?

find someone who may be willing to teach me to channel my powers more efficiently

This is an excellent idea that I would like to copy.

Thank the priest profusely and promise to serve as best as I can. Ask him if he knows of someone who can help me learn to channel my powers more efficiently - if he doesn't, leave and search for someone myself.

Perhaps the turn after we should get questing?

Unequip the ring, then go digging in the trash for money and loot.

Because he joined without some other reason for doing so - you guys had cursed things you wanted off, while he joined because he wanted to join.

And the loincloth thing was a bit of a joke regarding me having forgotten clothing. But I think I'll stick with it. :P

Well, it was partly also because I was worried about bleeding to death through my finger because I was sent a sign!

And a loincloth fits my character.

Unequip the ring, then go digging in the trash for money and loot.
You unequip the ring, and [2] go digging around in the dump for money and loot. Unsurprisingly, you don't find much.
Thank the priest profusely and promise to serve as best as I can. Ask him if he knows of someone who can help me learn to channel my powers more efficiently - if he doesn't, leave and search for someone myself.
You thank the priest, and ask if he knows anywhere that you could go to improve your psychic abilities. He recommends [5+1] a guru living in the mountains far away to the east, who has supposedly gone into isolation to improve his knowledge of the genetic psychic condition.
Go to the tavern and accept the quests of everyone there, then find the rest of my party.
You go to the tavern and [1] before you can accept any quests, a hot elf chick buys you a few beers. The next thing you know, you're drunk off your ass and doing the Macarena on some poor man's sandwich. He looks angry, and will probably try to hit you next turn.
Give my thanks, and request permission to continue with my journey!
You thank him, and he says that you're free to do as you wish so long as you refrain from using things bound by evil, chaos, and that sort of rubbish.
Check for other quests, then find someone who may be willing to teach me to channel my powers more efficiently
You check the Tavern notice board, and are about to go accept a few quests when [2] you notice one of your party members doing the Macarena on someone's sandwich. What the hell?
Look for someone to teach me how to channel my psychic powers more efficiently
It would seem that most of the people in town only know the mundane basics of psychic usage. [5] However, you pick up a few tips and might be able to gain other psychic abilities faster.

Find the other members of the party; suggest we take any mission we can that heads east. Whist looking for the party, look for missions, jobs and rumours.
