Damn what you want player, I'm going to plant Plump Hel

(Problem figured out, I think)

[Er... yeah. In the DF Musical Chairs game, my current fortress doesn't seem to like variety. They won't plant Cave Wheat... Basically, it's mid summer, I selected Cave Wheat for summer sometime in the spring, and I have half a field of Plump Helmets. Want a copy of the save?

Edit: I can get them to plant sweet pods though... let me try messing with it a bit first, might get some clues

Also, I've realised that we aren't using the latest version in the game, so I'll try loading it up in that and see what happens]

Okay, nevermind this. I'm guessing that the plant seeds jobs from the previous season are carrying over or something, and as the farm plot was set up for plump helmets, it could still plant them in the next season (being the all year round crop), so they planted what didn't get finished last season instead of moving on to the new crop.

Yeah, I recommend not mixing different crops in one plot. Not a big problem if you have a soil layer to put your farms in, just dig out more space.

This is probably the same bug that causes fallow fields to still get planted.
