There should, I think, be a random teleporting issue, where all corrupted tiles are one tile away from the next (It's crazy geometry, Lovecraft!), making it very hard to keep track of Urist McArchaeologist as he wanders through unknown halls of violet gasses and whatnot.

Also, while we're at it, the crazies should be expanded a bit too. Not just melancholy and berserk, but screaming fits, laughing spells, narcolepsy and hallucinations - "Cancels job, interrupted by the howling" - depression in the sense of cutting off contact with others, causing some unhappy thoughts for the closer friends or family members, oh, and irritability. Getting lots and lots of enemies after contact with the beyond.

be an idea to populate hells floor with tis sort of beast, and have small -buzzard sized- animals that spawn from the madness to harrass the fortress dwarves.

If the corruption came with the long-awaited religion update, we could have priests fighting back with the power of prayer!

Corruption is sort of awaiting a Spherical lands update.

And then they demand most of your weallth in payment, or they take most of your children...

That's more Dwarf Fortress....

If we have gremlins and titans, and now necromancers, there's surely room for a message reading, "THE WILD HUNT HAS ARRIVED!" in the future.

If corruptions could spread your rivers and lake could get spammed by corruption.

This is... amazing.

Perhaps some strange moods could result in corrupt artifacts, as well.

I like this idea. Maybe make eldritch horrors both minor and major populate the deepest cavern layers to spike the danger of breaching them dramatically.
As was mentioned above a type of corruption spreading "vermin" overrunning the fortress would make for an interesting fall, with corruption remaining upon reclaim or visits in adventure mode.

I just imagine it corrupting an artifact sword...and then once you kill it one of your dwarves picks up the sword anyway. Refusing to ever put it down it constantly gives him bad thoughts day in and day out until it finally sends him into a murder frenzy....

Eventually and at great loss of life he is slain, and the next dwarf grabs the sword.

IT SHALL BE CALLED SOUL EDGE.

Possession moods would become more entertaining.

How about corruption mutating dwarves randomly, too (similar to the night-creature syndrome mechanics)? It won't necessarily kill them, but it could turn their hands into ragged poisoned claws, flesh into heavy scales or living porcelain, replace their eyes with twitching antennae... if left unchecked, a fortress could eventually turn into a nightmarish collection of motley, miserable mutants equally as horrible as the demons and forgotten beasts that they battle against.

what if some kind of evil vermin does this too,but in a smaller scale?
The rats, the rats in the walls!

No, those're in the stockpile, dear.

The food stockpile, and the refuse stockpile.
