Is it possible they were already pregnant?  The new version does not perform abortions, it just stops conception.

i'v also noticed this huge teenage pregnancy thingie... and the boom in reproduction rate.
my fortress is now infested with hordes of puppies    well, time to fire up some more buther.

but..

i wonder if it related to another problem i'v noticed since playing the last version : i can't train any war dogs. my kennels are here and functionnal, i'v more than enough dwarfs with animal training skill... and, they just don't train.
Or more exactly, they are training dogs...but without any result.
they'r at the kennels, stated as actually training some dogs... but nothing happens.
i'v destroyed and rebuilded the kennel, put a different dwarf with the right skills...and same problem.

i'm almost certain that it could be related with the way pets are aging...or lack of.

i'll try to relad my save with df_22_110_23c to check if something happen.

I also say the last version has breeding bugged. Animals multiply like roaches.

I'm having a lot of problems with this too. I just had three foals give birth to more foals, and I haven't even had to farm the last three years because my dwarves are living on kitten meat.

yeah.....im in my second winter and i am getting close to having more horses then dwarves(i ahve a pop of 35 dwarves)....and i think that only one or two of my horses are actually adults yet...all the otehrs are fawns
